rofl.gif just book it and tell him later wink.gif that is what I did!

actually no...in all honesty I never knew such a cool place even existed until I came across the BDW...and I looked at Ann's slideshow one night...OMG! popcorn.gif after I watched it a couple times with tears in my eyes I knew I had to convince my (then) FI that it was a place for us!

Seriously...now I can't imagine our wedding being anywhere else. Before I found Caletas we were going to have our wedding at the Vallarta Palace (where our group ended up staying) now don't get me wrong...the Palace is nice...but wow...there are no words to describe an LC wedding!

One thing that we ended up LOVING but didn't really think about when booking was the fact that Caletas is totally private! I knew I wanted a destination wedding but I didn't want all the other tourists at the resort to watch our ceremony KWIM? my DH later told me that alone was worth it! we actually watched a couple weddings at the palace when we were there...well not watched but saw them occuring...when I saw those weddings as beautiful as they were on the beach....I had no doubts in my mind about the location of ours

Nicole (and Kelly too :) ) are AMAZING you can't go wrong with them...so helpful...

I look back now too on my actual day...how many other brides can say they started out their wedding day on a boat with a life jacket! my wedding day was AWESOME...it was so cool to spend the day at Caletas with my mom and aunts (I didn't have a wedding party) we drank margaritas and kayaked... I always heard about brides being so stressed on their day...not me...I was cool as cucumber and it was the best day of my life!

I am still waiting for my pro pics...when I get them I will be sure to share!

ok, so i could go on and on about why you should choose LC...but go with what is going to be best for you guys...after all it is your day and you only do it once!

All the pics from LC are great! Ann's slideshow won me over but then I was always (and still am actually) dying to see every LC bride come back from their wedding and hear all about it and see the pics! Every time I saw anyone's pics I was always day dreaming about our wedding at the same time, I usually end up with tears in my eyes on every slideshow!

I gotta say though, the boat ride was the one thing I was very hesitant at first about. I didn't want anyone to totally hate being on a boat for an hour so we did think long and hard about that and if it was worth it. well it was! We didn't think when we started planning early on that our grandmas would be able to come to the wedding (they are older and NEVER travel) well both my DH's grandma and my grandma came (also my great aunt who too is older). but the staff had wheelchairs for them and it was just so special to have my grandma there....apparently too the boat ride was very choppy on the way over for the wedding...thank goodness though nobody got sick!

I could talk all day about Las Caletas and how much I love it! Jaime and I would get together (online of course) and chat about our upcoming weddings and every aspect of it! so if you ever need help I am here still!

Speaking of Jaime...

Jaime...hurry up and get back from that honeymoon of yours already would you?! I am DYING TO SEE SOME OF YOUR PICS! --> girl_werewolf.gif This is me until I see some teaser pics at least!!!!!!!!

awwwww! i got tears in my eyes. you two are too sweet! it really makes me want to go back to Caletas just to experience it again. i hope to take Gwen there someday.

Oh, funny story. i was at a friend's baby's birthday party last weekend (Paul, Gwen, and I) and this girl approached me. she was a little hesitant at first, but then kind of asked me if I had pictures of Gwen online or something, that she looked familiar. and asked if we got married in Mexico, etc.

turns out she was researching places for her sister to get married, came across this forum and my posts on Caletas. i was kind of embarassed, because 1) paul likes to give me a hard time about still being on here and 2) he's right - it's been almost 2 YEARS since my wedding! but i just can't leave! lol

anyway, i told her that without a doubt, it was an amazing experience. so, Rebecca, if you're reading this ... i hope your sister decides to go with Caletas!!!! (and I also hope that I am invited - HA!)

I totally agree! I thought I'd be a ball of nerves but hell no - I was soooo relaxed! Our little boat ride over there (since it was a Sunday we took a different boat than normal) was AWESOME! My MOH kept screaming "Sweet!!! I didn't realize a ride from Six Flags was included!" LOL It was sooooooooooo much FUN!!!!

Oh I love that! :)

K ladies - I just have to say for now that it was AMAZING! I only had one tiny bridezilla moment (BIL decided to move himself to another table when we'd gone over and over the seating chart trying to separate and mingle certain ppl if ya know what I mean...and for some reason it just totally irked me! I think I was also just reallllly tired and cranky by that point, lol). But it was just so cool... I keep remembering more little bits and parts and I'll totally tear up... and I remember Brad's eyes, I just stared into his amazing blue eyes almost the whole time (though Andi I did take a moment to stare out at the ocean and take a deep breath like you said! wink.gif), don't think I'll ever forget those eyes!!!

Promise to write more later!

LC is DEFINITELY the way to go!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
