Kati -- I know!!! I saw the same weather report went "Seriously?" It's predicting considerable cloudiness and rain for 3 days straight. But then I went to a different weather source that's predicting partly cloudy with 10% chance of rain for all 3 days (including both our weddings). So I decided to believe that one and go with positive thinking! I emailed Kelley and she told me I was insane to be worried about an entire day of rain...

Fingers crossed for both of us!

Yeah I emailed Nicole today and was like is this possible?

I did look at several sites to try and get an average. But lot's of them said rain. Oh my. There is only supposed to be two days on rain January!! Geez

But I am hoping that they are wrong, it's all I have to go on.

I have been going to PV for 4 or 5 years now and there has only been 1 day of rain. And now the second day is going to be my wedding day!?

Pazoop, here is hoping. Most of the forecasts I saw for Tuesday were good!!

We have a TA but a but guests can also just go on any of the travel websites etc to book their own rooms. I forgot exactley what we were paying but what we got there was slightly lower than what we got from Dreams. A couple of guests may be staying at differentent places but the majority of people coming will be staying with us.

I think that we all have our fingers crossed for no rain. Go with the flow. It's your day and as long as both of you're there it will be perfect!

Quick question...what is the general rule about people with DWs registering for gifts? Vanessa and I decided not to (because we're already asking people to spend a gabillion dollars on travel and boarding) and now some of our guests are freaking out about it. I just kind of think it would be super tacky to post registery information on our site. Any advice/opinions?

We wrote on our wedding website somthing to the tone of their presence at our wedding is the only present we could ask for, but for those that have inquired here our the places we registered at...and we added links to our registries. Then, at least your giving people the option, because there are some who will definitely want ideas of what to get you. :)

Another question kind of off the topic, but did any of you girls arrange for an additional boat/catamaran to bring back guests that wanted to leave the reception early? I'd like to arrange one for my grandparents, especially since we added an extra hour to the reception.

Thanks!!!

We did have a registry because a lot of people didnt come to wedding and still wanted to send gifts. Also we had showers etc, so we had to register for that stuff.

As far as letting people leave early, depending on how early, I think they can go back with the rythyms tour.

Hi - I'm planning to have my wedding in PV sometime in November this year and am seriously considering Las Caletas, as the packages that they offer seem very affordable. Ideally, I'd like to visit LC before I book anything but that may not be possible if I want to send my Save the Date cards out soon. Can anyone tell me if there was anything about the place that they disliked, however minor it was? Do you know how much the fee is for the boat ride to LC for my guests? I'd like to work the fee into my budget so that my guests won't have to shell out more than they have to for my wedding.

Also, I've tried sending a couple of inquiries through the Adventure Weddings site last Wednesday or Thursday but I haven't heard back. I haven't tried calling them yet but do they usually take a few days to respond? Just making sure that they weren't having site or email problems...

And my final question (for now), has anyone had a wedding at a church in PV and then just had the reception at Las Caletas? It sounds like it would be a difficult thing to time because of the boat ride over.

I know the answers to some of my questions may be hidden somewhere in this thread but this thread is pretty massive! Appreciate any help and tips for LC that you can give. Thanks!

Hi! Welcome...I think you will the find the Las Caletas brides are a bit biased because the place is just so darn beautiful! I know there are a lot of pages to this thread but maybe try using the search function on it. I think almost everything has been talked about at one point or another. Also here are the links to a few recent Las Caletas reviews.

Can anyone tell me if there was anything about the place that they disliked, however minor it was? Honestly no...the only thing for me that I am a bit concerned about is my grandma getting to the beach where the wedding will be located. I visited LC in December and it was bit rocky but I think if my grandma just takes her time she will be fine. Also Nicole (one of the coordinators there) told me that they do have an all terrain wheelchair if we wanted to request that for my grandma.Do you know how much the fee is for the boat ride to LC for my guests? I'd like to work the fee into my budget so that my guests won't have to shell out more than they have to for my wedding. the cost of the boat ride is all included in whichever package you choose.

Just making sure that they weren't having site or email problems...they are busy I am sure...give it a few more days, they will get back in touch with you. I just looked at the wedding calendar and it looks like right now they have had 5 or 6 weddings in a row this week! Adventure Weddings in Puerto Vallarta - Wedding Calendar

And my final question (for now), has anyone had a wedding at a church in PV and then just had the reception at Las Caletas? It sounds like it would be a difficult thing to time because of the boat ride over. I haven't heard of anyone else do this. I dont know why you couldn't though. I am sure that can be arranged.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
