Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Recommended Posts

I am SO beyond happy that my girlfriend (Brooke) found these forums and joined. Although I didn't know our account password until now, I have found so much information on here that has been useful to us during our planning. I know that many of you welcomed us to the boards when she originally joined, and I wanted to thank everyone for the very warm welcome!

Our wedding is less than six months away (November 5th, 2007) and we're finishing up our plans on what seems to be hyperspeed. We just Emailed Nicole an entire novel of questions that we couldn't find answered elsewhere and I've spent the entire day reading each post here and admiring everyone's Las Caletas photos!

A question for those already married at Las Caletas: Is there a steamer available at the bridal suite to get out any last minute wrinkles in either my dress or Brooke's outfit?

From what I've read, the bridal suite is absolutely beautiful and I know I can't wait to take advantage of it!

Ann, you must be so excited! I know that I'm totally excited and I still have six months to wait. You have ONE MONTH! I'm excited for you!

Have you pretty much finalized your plans? Is there anything special you're doing at Las Caletas for your ceremony?

I am excited - mainly because it means i get a 2 week vacation! I haven't thought much about the wedding - it's awful, I am so busy at work! But i guess that also means i am not stressing about it at all either.

I am finalizing things w/Nicole now - she makes me feel so confident that all will turn out perfect -and i don't have to worry much! I just hope she's right! I don't think we are doing anything unique - having the Trio for the ceremony and cocktail hour, then a DJ. We're getting their videographer package - and I am bringing in my own photographer (Leigh Miller, also on this forum). Not exactly sure what we're doing for centerpieces yet - but Nicole has shown me some pictures i like. we're keeping it pretty simple. oh, we may do the sand or hand ceremony.

Hello! I'm a new Las Caletas Bride. My wedding date is March 27, 2008 with still TONS of planning to do. However, I have spent the past few hours reading all the links in the forum. I have a feeling I will be depending on you ladies in the next few months to come and asking TONS of questions. How exciting to see all the pictures of actual weddings! I can't wait for more.

Have most of the brides that have been married (or to be married-yah) at Las Caletas choosen the deluxe package? Or has anyone selected the intimate package?

We are having a small, intimate wedding (mostly because I have restricted my mom from inviting everyone...I mean, if I haven't seen them in 10 years, I don't need them to go. That's another story..) I love the idea of having the deluxe package, but I just don't know if it would be practical for 25 guests (or maybe less...everyone seems enthusiastic now.) I just want my family and CLOSE friends there, but a HUGE party.

I read about sharing the buffet line in another post. That freaks me out a little. Is that true? If so, I may have to seek an upgrade if possible.

i do think one of the girls on here got the intimate package. but i THINK all of the other Las Caletas brides on here did the deluxe as well. since i wanted private - i chose deluxe. i think with teh intimate package you share the boat and Las Caletas with members of their regular tours.

Yes, Ann is right, if you do the intimate, you share the boat, and possibly the buffet line - but your ceremony area is private.

Nicole recommended for us right from the start, with 30 people, to have the deluxe package, she said it allows for much more time, and things won't be as rushed. We only had 33 total - and it was perfect, I don't think I would have wanted to do the intimate - it was so awesome having a boat/boat crew etc. all to ourselves!

How many people did you invite? We only invited 35. I honestly don't think more than 20 will go. I looked at the deluxe package and wanted it badly, but my mom thought I was being impractical and talked me out it. I just feared that we wouldn't have enough people to make the deluxe worth the money.

BUT now with the sharing of food- I dunno. And alcohol? Is that shared as well? I should have asked more questions, but I didn't think of them. Where was this site?!

Did Nicole give you a list of photographers that Las Caletas uses? I was looking into booking another photographer, but now I'm having second thoughts. I never thought to ask her for the list of photographers that Las Caletas uses for their packages.

Also, I'd like to think everyone for their help thus far. Truly appreciated! Marla sent me a ton of emails, and they had a bunch of information that she had compiled from some of you as well. So THANK YOU!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
