Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Recommended Posts

Jaime- I'm terrible with directions but I know it was just a few blocks up from the malecon. We took the bus there (from Barcelo) and it was near the bus stop. I heard it moved though- I cant remember where I got that info, but it didn't move far from where we ate. I think the people that own Vista Grill own Fajita Republic too. (At least I think it's Vista Grill- when we dined at FR they gave us coupons for Vista Grill and it said something about owning both places). I have pics of the cute little lights- let me post them.

Here's what they look like when it's dark (with a crappy camera of course) Click the image to open in full size.

This is their table set up- they just use paper- it's kinda cool and totally laid back.

Steve and I loved the food we ate their like 3 times during our 2 week stay (and we were at an AI!)

Celina (FutureMrsE?- I think) is having her WD there. She posted something about it in the PV restaurant thread.

Yari, your wedding is so close! I would love to see pictures from Vista Grill after your rehearsal dinner! I have found them so great to coordinate with so far (super fast responses and really accomodating).

Looking forward to pics from upcoming weddings!

Rachel, did you eat at PePe's while you were in PV? We are trying to decide on Fajita Republic or PePe's for a welcome dinner. What is the atmosphere like at Fajita Republic? Our families have never met before and we are looking for a fun and relaxing place to do our meet and greet!

Hey ladies. Quick question (okay...probably not quick but I had to draw you in...). My fiance Vanessa and I are Las Caletas brides (November 6, 2009). How many guests is too few for a Caletas wedding? We have had about 50 people say that they will go but only about 20 that we are ABSOLUTELY positive that wouldn't miss it for the world. Is that too small a number for the premier package? We know that we want the sunset ceremony and reception with a band/DJ/whatever at Caletas. I'm just so unsure of the guest list you know?

When we started planning we estimated that we would have around 35 guests...I booked Las Caletas for the premier package at 35 guests and since then the "official" number has dropped a bit to probably 20-25. up until a month or something before the wedding though I can drop our guest total down from 35 and not have to pay for the extra people that i initially thought we would have.

so the long answer to your question is no I do not think 20 is too little at all to book the premier package. I would book for as many as you think "might" come and then as you get closer just let Nicole or Kelly know that your number has dropped (or maybe increased!).

Sorry- we didn't eat at PePe's although I have read that it has good food. You may try searching the PV restaurant thread- I think I saw a bit in there. I can't remember though.

As for Fajita Republic, I loved it. I thought the atmosphere was great- it is an open air restaurant with fabulous lighting (as I posted pics of). I definitely would have had our WD there had we knew more. I tried to contact them early on when we were planning, but I don't think they get their emails. I never tried to call. Either way, I wish I would have taken our small party there and just picked up the bill for whatever they ordered. IT would have been cheaper for us.

We had a very small party (18 if you don't count us- 2 people didn't make it to the ceremony since they got lost in the marina.) and we had the biggest package. I totally think it worked and would do it again in a heart beat. :)

We are also having our welcome dinner at Fajita Republic, well I should say want to have it there.. cause we have yet to book it! But we loved it there as well. Great food and atmosphere, plus decent price. And very close to where we are staying, right downtown at the Tropicana!! It's getting close and I am getting excited but I still have a lot to do!! Yikes!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
