Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

What is the verstile band? I don't see it as a choice on the adventureweddingspv.com website. I was contemplating the mariachi band however there is a 2 hour minimum and I am afraid that would take up most of the reception.

Does anyone know how long the reception lasts?

How was it possible to have two different types of music? Don't they all have 2 hour minimumshuh.gif

I wouldn't recommend wearing heels really either, everyone was barefoot for our ceremony, I'd just be too worried about the heel sinking through the mat...

Marla, the reception (by the time you are finished dinner) is approx. 2 hours..but you have the option to extend your time by paying (in advance) $10 per person per hour (I think that is the cost). I think you could have two different types of music (mariachi or trio for the ceremony/cocktail hour and a band or dj for the reception/dance), as Ann is doing, without any problems. There is a 2 hour minimum, but I bet you just have to pay them for 2 hours, even if you don't want them to play for 2 hours...

Jaime, thanks for your help. I'm having the versatile band now too. We also are going with a harp for the ceremony. Has anybody had this or have any helpful comments on the sound of a harp on the beach? I think I'm also go to go with a short wedge and avoid a heel for shoes. I'm short though so i hope I find a sturdy wedge that still gives me a little lift. Anyone have suggestions on where to look at shoes? I'm having a hard time.

Jaime...what a small world! I just saw that your in the bay area too and our wedding dates are just two days apart. I'm in the east bay in brentwood. I can't wait to see las caletas on your wedding day, since that is the day my fiance and I get to check it out. Hope all the plans are going well!!

Ok Ok!! I found what Nicole was trying to send me! I'm a 'Las Calcetines' bride, and I asked her about the rain back-up plan: she said they have a covered area on one side of the island (has concrete floors tho), but she's had brides say their vows in the rain. Not me!! Anyone been to check it out yet?

Yes, they do have a covered area (which is used as a restaurant for the evening shows, and was just being built when we were there. It is a very beautiful area, but you can't really see the beach from there or anything, it is more of a jungle setting, but it is sheltered from the rain and it is very beautiful. I unfortunately didn't get any pics of that area, but we sat up there and had dinner when we were on Rhythms of the Night (two weeks after our wedding) and it was quite beautiful.

Hi All

I have been engaged for about a month now. After looking into all my options for a destination wedding, I have decided on Puerto Vallarta. I stumbled upon Las Caletas the other day and instantly knew it was perfect for my fiancee and I. He agrees as well. I don't have any points yet since I am new to this forum. As a result, I can't really access any documents that have been posted. So far this thread and the links have been incredibly usefull. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to correspond through email with me so that I can receive the extra info and ask questions? My email address is nat4crim@hotmail.com

Also, my fiancee and I really want to purchase the deluxe package and hope to have around 40 guests. No confirmations yet since we are waiting to know where and when before sending out invites. Is it realistic to have a wedding at Las Caletas for a maximum of $10,000 Canadian, or are we fooling ourselves? This budget includes the ceremony and reception. We have an additional budget for the cost of hotel, dress, rings..ect.. I don't want to get too wrapped up in this idea only to find out it is way out of our budget.

Hi! Welcome to the forum! Congrats on choose Las Caletas.

Just thought I'd let you know that we had our wedding and reception at Caletas and it cost around $8000 US - not sure what it was Canadian (just under $10K maybe) So it is very much possible. We didn't have very many add-ons, mostly just flowers for the BM's and the Fire Dancers.

If you want to email me your questions, feel free, I was married at Caletas on February 14th (hence, the username! LOL) My email is sabby25@hotmail.com.

It would probably be easier for you to email me your questions, instead of me emailing you a bunch of stuff that you may or may not need/want.

I can tell you one thing, Nicole, the WC at Las Caletas is amazing, she was SO AWESOME to work with, and she made our dream wedding a reality.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Lindsay

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
