Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Recommended Posts

Ali - have you posted the video done by the guy you hired through Las Caletas? We're now thinking of doing this, and I'd love to see his work, and what the end product is like. I've seen the other videos you shared (thank you!) and they are great, but I think done by your brother.

Also, did you just do the $575 package? What did you get with that, and how long was the guy there to video your wedding?

Hi Marla;

Ali did a fabulous job of answering your questions!.

We did not hire the videographer, but we did have someone from our group taping everything that went on, including the bus ride, boat ride, ceremony, dinner, dances, fire dancers, etc. We got some really good video!!! We bought a video camera last summer specifically for our wedding!

As for the washrooms, they have washrooms close by the reception site, and I did have to go once, so my husband came up with me and lifted up all the parts of my skirt so I could hold on to them, and I managed just fine!

Nicole said it is pitch black up at the bridal suite after dark, so they don't want anyone going up there, so we did the same thing as Ali's group did, left all our bags packed up and on the couch in the suite, and her staff brought them down for us later on, it was just fine!

Hope that helps!

Lindsay

Hi Ann,
Yes the footage you saw was done by my brother in law and we did go for the $575 package but I haven't been able to upload it...I can't seem to get it all downloaded properly on my computer, but I can tell you that we really enjoyed it, as for the details of it...well our video was an hour long and ended with our special dances (first dance, father daughter dance and bridal party dance) and then we noticed that after that hour they had another 15 mins of dancing footage taken randomly through-out the night! Little bonus we figured! Umm the guy was there from when our guests group first arrived at the deck and then he stayed until we left but he stopped taping right before we got back on the boat to head home! If I can get it properly uploaded I will for sure let you know but we are just in the process of moving at the moment so all our wedding items are currently not with us because we left most of our stuff at our previous home! But I will definitely keep you updated with it!

Yes you do get a DVD with the $575 package, and its partly to music as well as the sounds of Las Caletas and your ceremony! I am guessing it is probably decided by the videographer when he is editing it what he will keep and what sounds best because for ours the part with the group coming over was all to music (which was fine to us but you could see people saying things to the camera and it was edited over, my brother told me it was probably because it was windy on the boat and it wouldn't of been clear sound) but during our ceremony you do hear parts of it (ie. vows, introductions, sand ceremony & announcing us married!) This was kinda why we also liked having the video from my brother-in-law because it has the whole ceremony as well....we figured we kinda got the best of both worlds! And once I get the video back in my possession I will try and post it but no guarentees! Have a good one!

  • 3 weeks later...

Hola, Amigas! Just returned from Puerto Vallarta to check out the area and tie up some loose ends...we went out to Caletas! Fantastic!!! Nicole is terrific, so helpful and accommodating! Let me know if you have any questions; would love to help. I just have to say...I think it was Marissa who said that a lot of details or flowers weren't necessary; it's true, there is so much natural beauty there..words cannot describe. Too many flowers/details could even take away from the amazing natural layout. SOOO excited! May 5th is right around the corner! Jamie smile159.gif

Hey Ladies!!!

We're famous!!!!!!

Our photographer said he was going to put our pictures in the local PV news paper Ambito, but it wouldn't be for a few weeks, well, I stumbled across the website for it today, and lo and behold, we just happen to be in this weeks edition:

Ambito Puerto Vallarta - Welcome -News, Culture, Tourism, Events, People and Style

Just click the link, then on the left hand side, click on "weddings" and there we are!!! I think it'll only be there until Sunday, so if it's gone, then click on "back issues" and it's the March 25th Edition!!!

I'm so excited, hopefully Nicole will be able to send us a copy of the paper!!!!

Anyone know anything about the heels situation. I am worried about heels digging into the sand while walking down the aisle. I know it will happen off the aisle, so i think I will bring some sandals for after the ceremony, but I would love to wear heels during the ceremony (I'm a little short)

Hi Laura,

I wouldn't wear heels, the aisle is thatch and the walk down from the bridal suite is steep. My bridesmaids were going to wear heels, but now are wearing either a short wedge or flats. We chose the trio for drinks and apps and then the verstile band for dancing. We really wanted the Cuban band, but they are not contracted with the company anymore. sad.gif Nicole recommended these bands for a variety of music that everyone will like.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
