Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Recommended Posts

Wow Rachel! The wedding photos so far look fantastic and I am so excited to see more! It's different looking at them all now since I've actually been there and it's definite that our wedding is confirmed! Yours is the first Las Caletas wedding that has happened since I joined the forum so I am excited to see your photos.

It looks like everyone had such a great time and the cake does look spectacular. Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well the day of the wedding though!

I had never been to LC prior to the wedding I just relied on all photos from the forum. It wasn't as large as I thought would be either. I also thought the Rhythms of the Night tour would be further away. They didn't really bother us, but I had a few people walking around while we just finished eating. I just changed my dress in the area above dinner and I came out and bam- on the walkway were two strangers. I was thinking "thank goodness they weren't here two minutes earlier. They would have had a great show."

Rachel! I went away for a few days and missed all this good stuff. First, welcome back and congratulations!!

Love your cake too, and all the pics. My dress did the same thing, casualty of having larger bazooms I guess...lol

Your boat ride back looked like a party! I think everyone on the top deck got flashed a few times from the wind on ours too....thanks for rekindling my memories and sharing yours. Can't wait for more!

Congratulations Rachel. I really really can't wait for photos of the ceremony...

Rachel what time did you guys end up leaving? And did you continue the party anywhere else? Or just call it a night?

We confirmed our date as well. January 19th. It is penciled in anyways.

But we are thinking of continuing the party afterwards in Vallarta. Did anyone else do that? Or am I thinking that I am going to have way more energy then I think I am.

Rachel what time did you guys end up leaving? And did you continue the party anywhere else? Or just call it a night? Leave LC to go back to PV? Normal time- we didn't extend the time. I was afraid some of the older folks wouldn't want to stay up that late. Surprisingly, my grandma and grandpa were up like every night with everyone in our resorts cantina or hot tub partying down. We didn't go to a club afterwards- we planned on it but I was sick and once we got back to the marina I just felt I couldn't continue on. I went out the following night instead.

You may have a lot of energy afterwards- espeically if you continue to drink on the boat. Our resort was too far away from downtown so we just didn't want the hassle of taking a separate taxi back. Everyone was pooped out though. We got up at 6am-ish the day of the wedding.

ya I guess I probably wont have as much energy as I thought. But like you said the older folks will probably want to get back to their hotel... But my family and friends are the type of people who like to make it last and last.

We are staying right downtown PV.. so I just thought that even if I didn't want to continue the party then I could at least provide a spot for everyone else if they so desired.

Plus it's not like you wouldn't have the rest of the week to continue the celebrations.

I wasn't really bummed about the size. I was just suprised how much smaller it was. I don't know why I thought it was bigger- maybe because I stared at the map on their website for so long.

All in all, it was great. I wish I felt better in the day because I think I was kinda cranky feeling- especially in the morning getting to the marina and then onto to the boat. I was so tired and it felt like such a pain at the time. Again- I think it was just the cranky sick combo. Once I had lunch, I felt much better.

I had a great time though. I just wish it was easier to get around LC. Everywhere I turned there were stairs so I didn't explore much. I didn't want to climb more than I had to. I'm sure brides in 100% health will have much different feelings. I was bummed I didn't find the bed in the jungle or hike up to the orchidarium.

As for the wedding- it was all great. I didn't even care about the small hiccups. I had gotten to a point where I just wanted to get all the wedding stuff done. I was happy it was finally time to just relax and have a good time after the ceremony. So much pressure relieved. We had a blast dancing and eating dinner. It's so pretty at night!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
