Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Hmm, my favorite part for sure was seeing Eric's smile as I walked down the isle. It was all just so sureal!! Everything was so beautiful, I think if I did it over, I wouldnt have gotten any flowers at all. The setting really didnt need it and the dinner area was filled with greenery, ivy plants etc. The butterfly realease was a flop, all the little guys were dead so that was dissappointing but it was no big deal and everyone laughed about it. Ummm, what else, I can not stress enough how fast it goes by. I only had 50 guests and I'm not sure I got to talk to everyone. I would have added an extra hour to it. I wish I could do it all over!!! Its weird, all the planning and everything and then there are som many little things that didnt even matter. Everything was awesome! My husband was blown away that I planned it all over email and he even said a speech thanking me, it was adorable.

I'm sorry about the butterflies - but that does sound like it might have been kind of funny, at least you can laugh about it! Poor things.

Good to know about the flowers - I was really thinking of doing just the minimal, a bouquet for me and a flower for Paul - then not much else really. Not sure yet what I will do on the tables, if anything - what did you do (I forget)? Did your placemats even show up?

That's so sweet of him to thank you in his speech - what a catch!

Also, you would have extended the night by an hour? This is something I go back and forth on, and am hoping that I can decide at the last minute. I'd hate for people to feel "trapped" there, since they can't leave, but I am afraid we won't want to go back!

We tried to get an extra hour at the last minute and unfortunately, Nicole said we couldnt do it, you have to decide that in advance. I think all the workers already started wrapping up for the night. I think all the older guests were ready to go home anyway but I didnt care!! : ) But, the boat ride back was a blast and then we all went out after till 3 in the morning so we made it last as long as possible.

My placemats never showed up so we just didnt have any and it was completely fine. For the centerpieces, I had small, square vases with sliced limes in them and white orchids. The limes turned out great but I wished there were a lot more flowers in it. Like I said, you really don't need table centerpieces. There are tons of candles on the table and that would be enough. Hopefully you can see in the pics.

Marisa - those are great! It looks like you really had a great time, and it seems sooo beautiful!!

1) I love your hair, I forget - did you hire someone to do hair/makeup, or did you do it on your own?

2) I see a lot of flowers, on the bar, and the archway/chuppah - are those extra that you paid for?

3) Also, are you glad you got a cake - I noticed there are a lot of desserts in the buffet.

4) Are all the linens provided by Nicole and no charge, the ones on the tables for dinner, and the chairs for the wedding? They really look great and I don't think I'd need anything extra.

I have so many questions, but I am trying not to ask too many! lol These pictures are so much fun - keep sharing, and thanks!

P.S. I decided to number my questions so they're easier to answer (so much for not being a pest!). And I LOVE the picture of you on the swing!

How cool is that, that they have a swing at the bar? I love swings so much that, I have one in the back yard!

All the linens were standard. The taupe napkins was a last minute decision, I saw them on table at the site inspection and I asked Nicole to use those instead of the white ones.

I am glad I got a cake, I can't imagine a wedding without cake and it was really tasting, even though I only had a bite from someone walking by. : )

I did have a stylist come out and do my hair. My makeup was a joint effort between my best friend and I. I used REbecca's pic (on the forum) for the hair, and it came out great.

I paid for two flower arrangements for the ceremony (totally not neccessary) and then I think two more for ceremony come standard with the deluxe wedding. Once the ceremony is over, they move them to the bar or the cake table so thats why you see them in those spots.

Oops, I didnt follow your numbers but I think I got them all. Feel free to ask more.

Did I mention how fun the bridal suite is? Definitely go early!!!

I definitely love the swing at the bar - what a great idea! I was thinking I wanted the taupe napkins as well, though I haven't even looked at all of my options - so it was nice to see them on your table.

Paul really does want a cake, so I am sure we will get one. How was the rest of the food, both the appetizers and dinner, did you just go w/what they offered, or did you customize at all? Were there enough options for a vegetarian (my sister)?

What time did you go over there, and what did you do all day? Really, the bridal suite is worth going over early for? Don't they have a spa on site?

I think I will have someone come out to do my hair & makeup - who did you use? I just don't want to have to worry about all of that stuff.

I am getting even more excited now!

We took the 9 am boat over to Las CAletas. We got there around 10, got massages at the spa, laid out, swam and ate lunch at 1 pm. Then went up to the bridal suite to get ready. The hair stylist came at 2:30. It was just nice to not be rushed and have some girl time before hand. There was a bottle of champaigne in the room for us. They are building a jacuzzi in the back of the bridal suite, maybe it will be complete by June, you should ask Nicole.

For the hair, a place called Cocco (or something like that) I had a trail on Tuesday but then a different lady came out the day of the wedding, not part of the plan so I was nervous but thank god I still had the picture, she did it great. She didnt speak ANY english so hopefully you do or someone you are bringing out early does.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
