Oh don't worry! We're both bringing our digital cameras and plan to go picture happy! Both our parents and all our friends are dying to see pictures of LC! The way I talk about it, I think I've given it mythical properties! I may need to get a little quiet about it now just so that they go in with lower or no expectations and then get really surprised!!!

We're staying, I think at the Holiday Inn? I don't know for sure because I actually didn't book the trip. It's been gifted to us by my FMIL (As an incredible, fantastic belated engagement gift!!!!). She and my FI were scheming together last week and then he went on a website I alerted him to thanks to another BDW member and found an amazing last minute deal vacation package...He knew we didn't really care where we stayed provided no bugs, no mold, no (interest anything really repulsive here). And we wanted it to be close to downtown versus in Neuvo Vallarta. It's AI which is great because we won't have to worry about breakfasts and drinks around the hotel, but still cheap enough that we plan to eat dinners off the hotel -- definitely going to check out Barcelona Tapas on your recommendation! I've seen the photos from others WD and the food on their menu makes me hungry just reading it! And I want to try Le Kliff as well if we can...my cousins from LA go down to PV a lot and they've mentioned it, even if it's just for a sunset drink and app...the view is supposed to be amazing.

Anyway, this will surely get me through the next not so fun week at work!!!! woot.gif

I told him LC has a beach too...
I am going on Tuesday the 25th for my site visit, and can not wait. And you are staying at the Holiday inn which I believe is right next door to the Peninsula where I am staying! What days will you be there?

So, my fiance is soooo happy not to see LC before the actual wedding day. (He can't go next week, because of work and classes he is taking). He loves surprises, and loves the reviews and descriptions, so if I like it, I am booking that day!

Anyway, this is the highlight of my PV vacation, and I have to wait until the last day! Oh well, thats the way it goes!punk.gif

We leave one week from today!!!! It looks like we're going to be meeting up on the 25th over at Caletas!

My fiance would have been fine not seeing LC until the day of the wedding but at this point is so desperate for a vacation. Plus, I think he's happy to have some role in planning this wedding. He's been and will continue to be so busy over the next year with work (he just started as a first year associate at a law firm) that he'll basically be a wedding planning spectator. It's a big change for him because he's used to us planning everything together --even if I am the one who takes the lead researching everything he stays involved in the decision making to keep me from sweating the details! :-)

Ditto - I wanted it to be the first time for everyone, including us. We didn't use our site visit, and Nicole said we could let someone else use it during the week. But we didn't want to do that, because we wanted people to be seeing LC for the first time at our wedding. Silly us!

Sorry you got bumped! The 25th is my last day there, and the only day they could do it too, otherwise I would have been okay with whatever date. I wouldnt care if we were both there, but I guess I understand where they are coming from.

Oh well!

BTW everyone, that was my thought. i wanted them to be surprised, but of course, my controlling mother was like that's silly. So a few days passed and then I yelled at her because she tells me I should do what makes me happy but then tells me not to be silly when I say what I want. It is all ironed out now. Just my mom, dad and sis are coming with me. That's okay because I would want my mom and sis, and wouldnt want to leave my dad out. Plus it will be a nice day for the 4 of us, the first in ages. Should be okay now! Thanks everyone!

If at the same time, let me apologize in advance for crazy family!!! Hopefully they wont all want to site visit with me, but then again, they might!

Just a different perspective, we invited my parents to spend the site visit with us a few days before the wedding. We had already been to LC but our wedding was at night and LC looks different during the day and it's a different trip so we wanted to hang there.

The reason we invited the parents is that we wanted some alone time with them before all the guests got to PV. We figured once everyone arrived that our time would be divided, and it was. The day trip was a nice time to be together for some family time and chill before the big party started. But we are close with my parents and like hanging with them, if not they would have been a burden...lol Nothing was ruined for them, LC at night is a different experience and a wedding is different from a day at the beach!

Either way you will enjoy the place :o)

Hello Everyone!

My name is Andi and I am pretty new to the board and just finished reading this entire thread! I am so excited about what i have just read! We are now considering LC as an option for us. I just have a quick question, probably a really silly one but how does transportation work as far as getting guests from the hotel to the dock (or wherever the boat takes off from)? Do you have to set something extra up like a bus?

Oh, also one more quick thing...where exactly in PV does the LC boat depart from?

Thank you for all the wonderful information so far!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
