Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Recommended Posts

Hi Mel,

The chair covers were part of the pkg. and included in cost. As far as the rain if it did happen. Nicole and Kelley have a plan for that. I didnt get to see it but theres a bldg that I believe she said is covered not far from the beach site. In Jan she felt 99.5% we'd have no rain. She is really very throughal, no worries with her and Kelley and their great staff. You are going to love it there. Our Jan wedding had little sun for us and we couldnt go earlier due to the tourist there seeing Las Caletas. The staff had to wait for them to leave so they could set up. That's why we had to start at that particular time. It went by so fast and was so great. Kelley and Nicole are going to take excellent care of all things there. All you do is walk down looking gorgeous :) Enjoy

Ok totally random question, but I was hoping someone could help. Roughly how wide do you think they construct the chuppah? I asked Nicole and she said it varies but I didn't want to bother her again to ask if there was a rough estimate.

I want to buy some faux capiz shells to hang on the back of the chuppah but I don't know how many I need. The rod is 33.5" wide so I'm thinking 2. Or do you think I would need 3?

Elizabeth Lloyd? That's my photog but of course, I haven't used her yet. Do a search in the forum and you should be able to pull up a few photos she has done. She did a wedding for a bride on the forum- I think HLS something, and she did engagement photos for Raisinblur I believe.

Fabulous memory! I did just send Nicole a pic of what I wanted, and she made it happen ... she had just told me I might have to be "flexible" with the materials. She did a great job though - let me know if you want me to post pics of what I sent her vs. what she did.

Well I already sent her a pic. I originally was going to buy the real capiz shells and Nicole said she would buy them from me since they are like $300 down there. I found some through world market that were only $30 per curtain and she talked about Kelley picking them up on her trip to Texas. I don't think that worked out.

Anyways, I waited too long and world market doesn't have the shells anymore. I found some fake ones that I was going to buy instead. I was just going to bring them home with me and do something later with them- like make a chandelier or something cool.

I absolutely loved it and instead of flowers I wanted to do the capiz shells. But they are super expensive! I just thought it would be great backdrop for the pictures.

I thought about stringing fake flowers together to recreate that look but then it would probably get all jumbled up and tangled on my way down there. I did love Ann's canopy too, so I don't know! I suck at making decisions. I have changed my mind about the table centerpieces like 5 times.

Ann, since you didn't do a site visit prior to the wedding, when did you give Nicole all your wedding stuff? The day of the wedding?

FI doesn't want to leave our guests to do a site visit since we will be there a week after they all leave. I understand his point, and Nicole expressed that we could do a shortened trip by taking a water taxi there. That scares me because I researched that it's 30 mins by water if you leave from the nearest town! I would hate to get sea sick.

I'm planning to go out to Las Caletas early the day of, so I was hoping I could give her all the stuff then. What did everyone else do?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
