Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Recommended Posts

So....We're HOME! :)

After 2.25 amazing weeks in Mexico, it's somewhat difficult to be back in the Chicago weather. Getting off of the plane to nasty, chilly, damp weather wasn't fun.

Everything was amazing. Simply amazing.

Nicole, Kelly, Cooper, Alli....My god. Without these people, we would've been lost.

So we'll write a review shortly. Although we don't have our official wedding photos yet (Cooper's slammed!), we've got some from our guests...Be forewarned! My post will probably be long...Reeeealllly long!

know I haven't posted much on this forum but if it wasn't for this forum I would never have gotten married at Las Caletas. Our wedding was on Nov.7th (two days after Brooke and Gen) I know they will probably post a much better review than me. All I want to say to anyone who is getting married at LC - don't stress about all the small details! It is such a beautiful place and it goes by sooo fast. I didn't worry about anything. I didn't pick out any decorations (Nicole did a great job with the tables etc) I had a DJ (He was fantastic!) I didn't pick out any music, except for the song I walked down the aisle to. They are so good at what they do that you don't need to worry about a thing. Nicole even had fans on the chairs for people (I didn't even think about that) It was a really hot day! It took me 20 minutes to get ready and I believe that simple is better. I found that because it was so hot that excessive hair and makeup just wasn't worth it and I am so happy I didn't have alot of material on my dress. Dinner was fantastic, we also had a cake but it wasn't necessary as everyone had desert and there was so much cake left over. The flowers were beautiful but people only noticed the location and at night (which comes fast!) the only thing people see are the candles (hundreds of them). It is absolute paradise! We paid for an extra hour - which is so worth it, I would highly recommend this! We also had the firedancers which were so appreciated by all our guests. They all said it was the best wedding they have been to - and this was with a lack of any preparation by me. I did nothing! I had eight people go over with me for the day and we used the spa (awesome massages) and the jacuzzi filled with cool water works great - especially when you have a glass of champagne in your hand! My wedding day was the least stressful day I have had in my life. It was so incredible - you don't really know until you get there what a truly magical place it is. It was also great to have some insight before I got there (because of this forum) I knew what to expect and I just enjoyed every minute of it. Nicole and Kelley are both fantastic at what they do, I can't believe some of the things they have to put up with, but they do it to ensure that the brides have the best day of their lives. I would do it again in a hearbeat, and I wouldn't change a thing. I just wanted to post my experience for everyone as you have all added to the fact that I had the best day of my life (so far!) at Las Caletas. Thank you ! If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask me as my wedding package may have been different than someone elses. You have so many choices !!

I am going to try to attach a couple pics for you. I can't seem to figure out how to resize pics!! We used the wedding photographer that came with Vallarta Adventures, he was great and I have no complaints about him.

I envy all the brides that have their weddings coming up at LC. I wish I could do it again every year!!

All the best to all of you.

Rita

I just can't stress enough how much they take care of you! Instead of worrying about table runners and how things were being set up I went swimming.. toured around Las Caletas, had lunch, and spent a good hour and a half in the jacuzzi! Nicole had to come to the bridal suite and ask when I was going to start getting ready... she looked quite concerned that I hadn't even showered an hour before the wedding!! Don't worry about shoes.. the setup.. the dinner... the music.. any of it. Also, at night check out the water.. there is sea plankton (sp?) that rolls up on the beach, a bright florescent blue (did anyone else see it??) It is beautiful!! Just take time to notice all the effort that goes into putting the wedding together. The candles are the most incredible thing I have ever seen. The entire night was seamless! I never had to ask for anything or demand anything.

I have tried to post pics but the best I can do is provide a link to Kodak. Please let me know if it works!!

Were those pictures from your photographer or from someone else? Who was your photographer that came with your package? I am so lost on this whole photographer thing. The ones I really like I can't have because $$$ and the others are still $$ but not that good of work. I really need to figure this out too cuz I only have 6 months and as it gets closer it gets slim pickin'.

Mel -

We used the photographer that came with the package - and we were MORE than happy with our photos! He was so much fun to work with, and I think our photos turned out great. We couldn't afford to bring our own photographer with us - so we took a chance with the photographer provided, and he was WONDERFUL! His name was Roberto Aceves - and he is from PV - not sure if this is who they use still, maybe one of the more recent brides will know?

I will see if I can dig up my post with my review and photos in it for you - so you can see some of Roberto's work...

I had Roberto as well and he was great. It is worth the money in my opinion because he can have you pose quickly and also works with light. He was fun for sure! We did the video package as well, should have that in about a week. It was like the paparattzi as I was coming down the aisle! The pics we received were all fantastic! We ended up buying the cd from him so we could have all the pics.

And I had no idea that the table runners would be pink! I was supposed to go over colours with Nicole the day of the wedding but found it more important to hang at the suite. I loved the bright colours that were used..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
