Oh I began to worry too! I think he emailed me like 4 days before we left.

I attached our ceremony- Ann originally gave it to me when I started to panic. I would just edit it then when he emails you, send him the version you have already completed. A lot less worrying that way.

BTW- I added in the hand ceremony. That's not part of his original ceremony.

I think I heard from him about 1 week before the wedding.

I don't remember if I ever brought this up here, but maybe some of the previous LC brides can help with this.

My guests reported that it was extremely confusing the day of the wedding when they arrived at the marina. I didn't have transportation arranged for them because Nicole said for my small group it would be cheapest and easiest for them to just take taxis there. Anyways, we ended up having a couple miss the boat because they were confused where to go. They stayed at a separate hotel so they weren't with the larger group.

My dad said they arrived at the marina they didn't know where to go. The taxi just dropped them off on the street so they didn't know how to get into the marina and the port tax place was closed. They weren't sure where to go and they were just kinda standing there. He said they would have been lost but thankfully Brad, the minister, walked up to them and asked if they were the wedding group. He showed them the way to the boat.

I later talked to the couple that missed the boat and they clearly were way off base. I'm not sure how it happened but they saw the boat go by and realized that they missed the boat.

Just wanted to put that out there, because I didn't provide my guests with any information other than show up to the marina. I didn't know what else to tell them (or even that more information was needed).

We didn't arrange transportation either. We gave them their port entry tickets the night before at the WD. We told guests in our welcome portfolio in the OOT bags (and again at the WD) that when they arrived they should enter the turnstyle and proceed to the Vallarta Adventures booth to the right. We said to tell the people behind the counter that they are there for the wedding and take directions from them.

There weren't any problems, other than the fact that the President of MX was at the port for the Navy Anniversary so everything was shut down and delayed, and my poor guests had to wait like an extra 45 minutes outside of the gates in the killer heat...and then go through a checkpoint...that sucked. Nicole was mad that MX officials told them like the day before, and she had a wedding the night before ours that had to be moved up several hours early last minute because no boats could come or go that night - talk about stress! It worked out though!!

Usually someone is at the VA booth during operating hours so I'd suggest for future brides to have your guests start there or look for other guests or boats that say Vallarta Adventures, it's a pretty small area so if they know what to look for they should be okay. You could also assign a responsible guest the task of holding a sign or rounding up strays - my mom was going to do this but our group was small and everyone recognized each other from the WD.

Rachael, Thanks for the ceremony stuff. And definately thank you for bringing up the ordeal at the marina. I have been there several times, but can't remember much because of well partying too much. I will e-mail Kelley and ask her what she recommends for my guests to do so that way I can put it in their welcome letter.

Hopefully, everything will go fine. We are doing the site visit so FI should remember what to do for the next day and tell the guests.

No problem. I just wanted to bring it up in case other brides were like me and had never been to the marina before. Most of my guests had never even been to PV so to say the least, they were somewhat confused. I think when they got there no one was working at the booths so they weren't sure where to go.

I definitely know that no one was even working the port taxes booth, so they didn't even have to pay that. I had given my dad money to pay for everyone, but they didn't have to I guess. I know that's not a normal thing because Nicole had talked to me about the $1.50 per person fee.

Last time we were there we almost missed the boat too! We were actually the very last ones on....

The taxi just drops you off and it really can be very confusing. We first walked up to the correct gate where we were told to turn around and walk back around the block only to be told again that we were originally in the correct location. Soooo confusing! Then when we got to the VA booth one of the guys was kind of a jerk saying "are you sure you wanna get married?!" wtf.gif Anyways, they told us to wait somewhere which was not the right place at all. Thankfully the jerk was also the captain and he managed to find us as he was walking to the ship. Eventually we found Kelley and everything worked out. Phew!

Speaking of which I need to go email Kelly & Nicole about our visit next week! That would be awful if we booked this whole trip and they were completely full or something... eek! OK off to go do that now! LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
