lemon - I'll be arriving May 1st! Where is your wedding going to be - maybe I can peek wink.gif. I'm getting married elsewhere on May 4th, but all my guests and I will be staying at the Princess - so I'm wondering if you have more info than I was able to get?

How big is your group?

Do you know how much it costs per person to have a private rehearsal dinner?

Do you know if it is possible to section off part of the courtyard for welcome cocktails?

Do you have a contact at the hotel I can contact?

Are you getting your hair and makeup down at the resort?

You can PM me if you prefer, or answer here to help others :).

Thanks!

Thanks everyone!

Hah I actually know almost nothing at the moment. I was going to go to Dreams Tulum but lots of my friends are on budgets and the newer rooms there are great but the older ones are not so hot.

Yes come by for a peek! We arrive on the 26th and our guests will be arriving on the 26th, 27th or 28th depending on who they fly with.

My group will be between 30 and 40 people and I have no idea what the private rehersal cost is still waiting on my emails to be returned but I am not really worried as long as I have the date!

I have been dealing with the events coordinator

eventos.riviera@princess-hotels.com

I have short hair so I don't really need help with it but for sure getting makeup done!

Funny - I was going to go with Paradisus Riviera Cancun or Azul Beach (or the new Azul View) but same issue - worrying about my friends and family with budgets. Of course people are still grumbling b/c they haven't bothered to compare prices with other resorts and realized how amazing it is, or they don't know that a hotel room in Laguna Beach (my alternative plan) starts around $350...

At least the events woman is writing you back - she stopped writing me back about a month ago for some reason. If she does get back to you, maybe you can ask or refer her to me or something?

I want to have a rehearsal dinner at one of the restaurants (pref. a free if possible at an a la carte, or maybe pay for Thai Beach Restaurant for the location and specialness of it), and I want a welcome cocktail in the courtyard area if possible (preferably with no charge or not much charge)?

Are you doing OOT bags, and if so, how are you delivering them? Is the event person going to do it for you, or do you trust the front desk, or are you handing them out yourself, and what about the people who get there the same night as you?

Sorry but I'm just excited to find somebody in the same boat kind of!

I am actually bringing custom made flip flops for the men and chinese parasols for all of the women to be in the shade during the wedding vows on the beach. I will ask them to contact you but I think it was a man I was dealing with!

I am actually not doing the rehersal dinner thing. What is the Thai Beach Restaurant??

OOH - please tell me where you are getting your flip flops and parasols since you seem so prepared - I only sent my STD 2 weeks ago sad.gif - so few rsvps yet. Just ordering my real invites now.

The Thai Beach Restaurant is the pay restaurant (not included) that is beachfront at the Princess resort.

Do you have a name for the male contact? Was it over email? I was originally communicating with Damarys, but well, no longer it seems!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
