Okay, here the link (the first fan listed int he one I dont' think looks so hot in person - very cheap and you can sort of see ripples int eh paper from the glue):

So far my two little sisters are supposed to be giving me away, and this would mean so much to them. What do you think?

Dear Lord please clear a spot for him:
he should have the perfect view.
His little girl's a Bride today,
and I am counting on you.
Let me feel his presence;
as I journey down the isle.
But let me notice his abscence;
if only for a while.
Let me stop to think of him;
As I am given away.
And know that if he could;
he would be here with me today.
Dear Lord please clear a spot for him;
he should have the perfect view.
And if he should get sad today;
Dear Lord I count on you.

The only question would be where and how do I use it. I dont want to read it or have it read. Maybe put on a scroll that could be passed out on the way to be seated for the ceremony, any ideas?
I've lost my Mom (birth) as well and this by far has been the most touching poem that I have read. I would shy away from printing it in the program since it would definately evoke some emotions. I was going to light a candle in my mothers memony and now that I've read this poem I would just include that next to it or on it.(may I borrow?)

How about a memorial chair?
Or embroidered/iron-on on a hankie?
Or place the poem on a ribbon wand?

Thanks kashmira, maybe it would be best if I made my own, that way I could have control of how nice they looked. I certainly wouldnt want to order them and have them not look nice.

Yes, borrow away, It is such a pretty poem, its sad but its kind of really sweet cute and simple at the same time which is what I liked. I will have to really think of wear I wanted it to be. You bring up a good point, it might be to much to put it directly in the program. Maybe on the program in very light print as a background to the program. Then its not so much part of the program but part of the fan.

I just printed it out and framed it. It will be on a table off to the side of the ceremony along with a framed pic of my dad and I and a little candle. Then is the program, at the bottom, I wrote, the candle on the table is in loving memory of the bride's father, Robert J. Mastrosimone.

Thanks so much for the idea!!

Oh, another thing I thought about doing is, having something typed up and framed that says, in lieu of favors, the bride and groom will donate to The Lymphomia Society (my dad died of lymphomia)

Its a nice simple way to honor him but I decided not to do it cause I already have favors.

When my oldest nephew, John, got married (we're the same age!), he received my father's (his grandfather's) wedding ring. My sister wrote a poem herself and read it to him/us remembering our father/grandfather who could not be with us and how his wedding ring was being passed down to his oldest grandchild. EVERYONE was bawling, but it was beautiful, and especially because my nephew did not know about it. Although it was sad at that moment, the ceremony went forward and everyone was overjoyed for their union and knowing that my father was still a part of that day.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
