*UPDATE*

Well, the pain in the side of my back/abdomen area never went away so I finally went to see a Urologist today. It's a kidney stone. I can't believe I've had a freaking kidney stone for 5+ weeks. (Stupid CareNow docs rant.gif)

I need to go in to get an X-ray scan done but the doc said my symptoms are classic for a kidney stone - straight out of the textbook. I'm actually relieved because I was beginning to worry that the symptoms were lingering for so long. She gave me this urine strainer thing that I have to pee in every time and try and catch some gold... I mean, a stone cheesy.gif It does look like I'm pining for gold though - LOL I'm also on Flomax to help the stone pass and pain meds almost round the clock. She said it should pass within the next week or so!!! smile159.gif

I go back to see her for a follow up next Monday. Pleeeeease think happy "flow" thoughts for me until then - hahahahahaha! wink.gif

Thanks for changing the title Christine!

Yes, I am very happy to have answers! I was really starting to worry that something more complicated was going on because I've had bladder issues since I was 2. Phew!

If you don't have insurance, try negotiating your hospital. doctors bills. It usually works. I learned this in a health policy class. It was also in money magazine. Insurance agencies are going to negotiate the bill down to about 25% of what it was, so they are willing to work with individuals too.

Holy crap Jaime! I'm glad you got an answer, but wow! I can't believe the doc in the box guys didn't figure that one out.

My BFF's hubby just had a huge kidney stone situation. He had to have an electromagnetic pulse therapy thing done to break one of them up. Sounds very painful.

Definitely tried that. The doc will only give a cash discount (35%) if the doc appt. is $300+. Good news is they referred me to a place to have the scan done that costs 1/10th the price that hospitals charge (like down from $1k to >$100!!!) This doctor is really nice - she knows my situation (no insurance) so she's really trying to help me cut costs.

lol @ "doc in the box"

YIKES! I've heard so many horror stories of kidney stones... so far mine hasn't been nearly as bad as the things I've heard. The doc said the worst is over but I thought the worst was when you pass it... huh.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
