Dreams Tulum- ? about ceremony

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies, I recently reserved a date with Dreams Tulum for next Dec (at least I think I did). She said I had it but hasn't asked for any money/deposit and I dont have any sort of contract. Is that okay? Or should I push for it? Response time is slow...

Anyway- my question is: can you have readings during the ceremony? Are they flexible if you want to have 2 people do a different reading at some point during the ceremony. Is anyone doing that? Also, other than readings and handing out the fans or schedule thingy before the ceremony (or being a bridesmaid/groomsmen), does anyone have any ideas on how else to involve someone special?? THANKS LADIES!!confused.gif

I never paid a deposit either, just received an e-mail from Sandra confirming my date. We also did not have to sign a contract. We only filled out the wedding request form that is on-line.

Yes, response time is pretty slow between Sandra and Landy, but in the end, they are all on top of things.

Yes, you can have as many readings as you want during the ceremony. Just let them know when you get there. You will go over the ceremony once you're at the resort. She will not need to know that info now.

I gave all my "wedding items" like fans, star fish, parasols, guest book and things like that to Sandra at our meeting (the day we got there) and she took care of all that.

I included our moms in the ceremony. Well kinda.... I had Sandra make 2 single flowers with bows and held them with my bouquet. I gave one to my mom on the way down the aisle and gave the other to his mom on the way back up the aisle.

Hope this helps.

I too did not have to send a deposit! As Lisa mentioned above... I just filled out the online form she sent us. Then she sent us a confirmation e-mail stating that the date had been booked for us!

I believe the payment is actually due 3 days prior to the wedding date. (?) so pretty much once we arrive.

As for ceremony time line... Im not that far ahead yet :) hehehe! I figure Ill work it all out when we arrive! But I too was thinking of handing out fans...

All we needed to do was give our TA a small deposit for Dreams and e-mail the information forms to Sandra to hold the date. We paid for our weddiung package when we met with Sandra after arriving at the resort.

Sandra and Landy are so helpful and accomodating. I'm sure they will be able to make whatever you want to happen during your ceremony happen with enough notice. We forgot our music and they were able to download our song for us and play it on cue.

I think I saw a recent post on here regarding including people in a ceremony. I guess it depends on who you are looking to include (a grandparent, a friend, a child?) and how big the wedding is. IMO if it's a small wedding (less than 50), everyone who's there will feel like an honored guest due to the initmacy so there's no real need for special roles.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
