DH driving me nuts!

Ok....so I can't stand the computer game World of War Craft!!!!

Erik is on it 24/7!!!!! He plays everynight till about 2 to 3 am and then goes to bed and wakes up to work (supposedly) but is playing the stupid game.

So yesterday he calls me telling me his co-worker will be coming to out house to do some work because they have a deadline for tomorrow to meet and he was stressing out about some work.....

Well his co-worker is here, came here at 8:30am.... our dog is whining to come into the room they are working in and so I get up to open the door to let her in and instead of seeing them work on work they are playing the stupid game!!!!!!!!

UGG!!!! I'm leaving this house right now, he is soooooo frustrating. When we go to Seattle this weekend he is not allowed to play that stupid game....NOPE Sorry!!!! his damn computer is staying home!!!!!

This is also one of our complaints....he plays the damn thing everyday, so finally I had to tell him SAT. are my days and you can't play it.

HE NEVER WAS LIKE THIS BEFORE!!!! Help what do I do.

That is so frustrating!!! Martin used to love to play his car racing video games which drove me crazy but I expressed my frustration and now he rarely does. However, I can't complain too much because we are going to get a Wii whenever one becomes available so I'm sure we'll both be addicted to that for a little while cheesy.gif

Also, Martin used to get really upset with me when I first joined BDW cause I could not get off this site!!! hahaha Once he let me know how he was feeling I really had to limit my time on here when he was around. I think communication is very important in this situation - if Erik doesn't listen to your feelings about this then I'd be pretty frustrated!!

Sorry Drea, I have no suggestions because I'm in sorta the same boat; so I'm listening to any ideas anyone may have! Mike is constantly playing pinochle online (I know, he's a dork....lol!). He walks in from work and it's the first thing he does, then he proceeds to play all night unless I FORCE him to go to the gym or eat dinner or something. What really annoys me about this is that when he's playing, he nods his head or says "uh huh" to whatever I'm saying, but I know he doesn't hear a word. I've been bitching at him for about a year now to no avail. Unfortunately, ever since I joined BDW, he says right back to me that I'm on the computer too much and don't pay attention to him.

DH doesn't play WoW, but he has some other computer game that he plays that he is this SAME way with. Although right now he's moved on to obsessing over some game he got for Wii.

It is sooo obnoxious though. I swear I have thoughts of breaking his computer when he's at work. I only use the computer when DH is sleeping, at work or not paying attention to me because he's occupied with the game... and I feel like I'm on too much as it is. So when we are actually home at the same time and awake at the same time (which is rare), I'd like to spend time with my husband. But nooooo. I think he should have married his games instead.

And yeah, definitely no computers to Seattle! Don't let him try to sneak it out of the house.

Jaime I have talked to him, telling him it drives me nuts, we used to go to the rock gym to climb and we used to go see movies and such but the game is taking over. He tells me I'm bitching, I'm complaining to much...That he is not on that often, it's his form of relaxation..blahblahblah. Well after our big fight he tells me fine you can have Sats. Then goes around saying to everyone Sorry guys Andrea won't let me play today because it's her day.
I came up to him the other day and asked him to throw away the trash and he said ok....3 hours later the trash isn't thrown away. I tell him to go do it but he always says wait I have to get to a safety spot, which lasts for another 30mins....
He is grumpy all the time, especially when I ask him to get off of it. Even my best friend notices it. I have no clue how to fix this.

Oh girrrrrl!!! You know, this is one of those things that kind of builds over time I think. At first it's something he does when you aren't home just to pass the time, next thing you know you've got an addict on your hands. It's like a drug (hey, at least it's not porn!)

Rafael gets stuck on things sometimes - like a flight simulator game, or working on something in the garage. It's nice that they have hobbies, cuz that gives you time for yours. But when you are feeling neglected and a pissed off like you are now, and he's not doing work because he's addicted to the damn game, then I think you definitely need to do something.

You just have to be up front with him & give him a little tough love. Let him know what you are seeing - because he may not see it since he's so wound up in the game. Point out the things that are being neglected (YOU, work, etc), and how it's making you feel - in a non-confrontational way if at all possible :)

Also, I will kick him for you when you get here :)

Haha. I have to laugh because this is EXACTLY what Brian does as well. Stupid f'ing safety spots! I get the the "just 5 more minutes" response, which turns into like an hour, two hours, the whole day.

And then the best part is when he tells me to stop nagging him and it will get done. Yeah, a whole freaking day later it gets done! If I don't nag him, it doesn't get done and I end up having to do it. BangHead.gif

Damn the people who made it possible to play video games at home.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
