Wow, some of you ladies really cleaned up this year! (both Melissa's)

I had a really hard time getting motivated to do anything Christmas this year - kinda sucks being in an apartment in a new city, away from all the fam & friends.

DH got me a TomTom GPS which I totally needed - he's so smart :) A new pair of Uggs & a spa gift certificate.

May seem like an odd gift for a 28 year old woman so here's the background: We rented a house in Ocean City, NJ for two weeks this summer. My daughter is really excited and she said she wanted Tim and I to get bikes so we could all ride together on the boardwalk. I was shopping in Target one day a few months ago and saw this fabulous sparkly pink beach cruiser bike. I took a pic of it and sent it to Tim and said this is what I will be riding down the shore! So Christmas morning my daughter was opening all of her presents and we got her a basketball net that was set up outside so I went running out with her to catch a picture of her when she saw her b-ball hoop and there was my pretty bike. I was so excited, I felt like a kid again getting a bike on Christmas morning!

1. I adore the bike - too cute!
2. I LOVE Ocean City, NJ. I summered there before.... It brings back happy memories just to hear the name of it.... Thanks for the smile!

Didn't get much at all, but that was by design.

FH and I decided not to exchange gifts and I told both out families we would be "cancelling" the gift exchange part of the holidays this year since everyone is saving for the wedding.

But, my family always draws names and we will fill each others stockings, so we still did that. No major gifts, just stocking stuffers, but I got a few sets of wine charms (tons of wine stuff really, which I LOVE!) and my folks got Tom and I a few joint gifts (much wine related too, lol).

Our cat gave us a Warm-Mist Humidifier with a card saying she hopes it helps us sleep better (since Tom snores and we usually end up in separate rooms) ... and we got the cat a bunch or stuff.

Fun, relaxing day -- but no real exciting gifts. Hopefulkly we'll go crazy next year! :-)

So, one of my favorite presents, we just got back from FI's sepdad's house and he took a picture of us and he has this machine that carves the picture into wood, it is so awesome!! We made 2 others while we were there for FI's best friends family (the son, Amos' best friend died 2 years ago) so we made 2 pictures for them!! We are about to go give them to them, I can't wait to see their faces!!

I will try to take pictures of them

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
