Yay! It sounds like everyone had a great Christmas! I have to say I got pretty spoiled this year....

iPod Touch

Prada perfume

waffle iron (I've been wanting one forever!!)

iTunes gc

Blockbuster gc

Target gc (came with the iPod)

Yummy candle

Justin Timberlake - FutureLove/SexShow dvd (I'm ashamed to say I begged for it...and he apparently had to go to a couple different stores to find one. He said wandering around asking for a J.T. dvd was a lot like being on the tampon aisle. Lol!!!)

Scratch offs - I won $9! lol! Woohoo! :-)

From everyone else:

A place setting of our china

a couple bottles of wine

Some yummy coffee

Bourne movies on dvd

Super cute cookie jar filled w/ candy from my mom

Ok, Matt and I didn't really do anything for each other, but we are working that out now. Since both our birthdays, our 2 year anni and Christmas are all at the same time, we decided to do one large gift for each other. He is going to pay for my laser hair removal and I will probably get him a few things - a razor, tint his car windows, a gaming system.

For gifts given, I had my bro in our family pollyanna and I bought him the Ipod Nano. I had Matt's sis in their family polly and I bought her gift certs to 2 restaurants, 2 bottles of wine and I made her babysitting coupons for her 2 little girls.

I made Matt some pretty raunchy sex coupons as well. That was his fave of course. Who knew they had such dirty fonts out there?!

I went a little crazy making things this year, so here's my list of things I made for others. I will have to get pics and post later also.

For my niece (Bronwen) nephew (Liam) and Matt's niece (Gwen), I made heavy babies from scratch. I never even sewed before, so it was quite a feat. Click the image to open in full size. Blue for Liam, Red for B and purple for Gwen.

Gwen has a little sis about 3 months old, so I made her a stuffed patchwork lizard. Which would've been really cute excpet I accidentally sewed the eyes to the tail instead of the head, but by that point, I had been sewing for hours and said "she is 3 months old she'll never know!!!" I made a stack of handmade cards for Matt's extended family pollyanna and a little organizer to put them in. I made dog biscuits for all the dogs (we have 9 in our family), and I made soap to give to people as we visited their houses! I thnk that about covers it.

wow all of you girls scored this year (except for the kidney and bladder infection)

I didn't throw up all weekend, that was my baby's present to me.

DH got me an external hard drive for my computer

My mom got us a Garmin and her boyfriend got us a dyson

My dad and his dad sent money plus my dad got us new phones

I got some gift cards. I have already bought two things, I got two diaper bags from Nordies and Crocs from Macys.

other random little things, but our families have cut back a lot in the past few years and I was way too sick to do any shopping this year.

We tried to keep our Christmas really small this year, and between the two of us I think we managed, but our parents went out and spoiled the heck out of us.

From DH I got a great new jewellery box in a dark wood, Slash's biography, a miniature die cast metal Sandcrawler (I'm a teensy bit of a Star Wars nut), The Star Wars Christmas Special on DVD (homemade by DH), fleece pjs with penguins on them (love penguins!), Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End on DVD, and a pile of chocolate in my stocking (dark chocolate Lindor balls would have to be my favourite).

From MIL/FIL/SIL/BIL1 and BIL2 I got The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold (if you haven't read her first book The Lovely Bones, please do, it's amazing!), a battery powered cookie press (I absolutely LOVE this thing! makes cookie baking soooo much easier!), a McFarlane Slash figure, $50 gift certificate for Smart Set, a homemade R2D2 keychain, and a compilation cd/dvd of pictures from our family Hawaii trip in 2006 (it took a while to get everyone's pictures together).

Finally, from my mom/dad and brother I got a salad bowl set, a spice rack, the book True Evil by Greg Iles, a cupcake/cake carrier, Godiva chocolate, and a set of gingerbread spreading knives.

Definitely a great Christmas, not just because of the gifts but because of how great our families have been to us. woot.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
