Hello, I was wondering for anyone that has been to Hawaii or lived there; if they can tell me about how much do I need to budget for food and drinks, We will be spending 5 days on Oahu and 5 days on Maui or Kauai and would like to have some sort of idea on how much we will spend on food, which will include a nice dinner every night. Any help would be great, Thank you.

I'd say at least as much as you would spend eating all meals out where you live, and then some. A nice dinner for two is a few hundred easy. I'm thinking great food, great atmosphere, and that costs.

Things are more expensive there in general but there are inexpensive "local" spots if you don't mind venturing out of the tourist zones. We have some BDW members more familiar with HI than I am, hopefully they'll add in :o)

  • 2 weeks later...

I have traveled to HI every year for the last 4 yrs. Our last trip was to Oahu and we spent a week there. The food is as expensive as home here in San Diego. Dinner for two at Cheeseburgers in Paradise will run ya about $30.00 with a drink each. On Oahu you have many more choices than on Maui. I mean if you want McDonalds its there or if you want to eat fresh seafood and spend $$$ on a really nice dinner you can.

Maui has less choices to eat at depending what part of the island you stay at. We have stayed up on the northwest part of the Island by Kaanapali Beach. Its about 10 min outside of Lahina. Lahina is full of places to eat but its gonna cost ya more.

hope this helps some?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
