I want a knee-length dress. Help!

Recommended Posts

I love the tea-length dresses. I wanted to do one but in the end I debated if I would feel truly bridal. Still gorgeous though.

All the girls provided you what I know, so I have no pics or advice to offer. Just wanted to say I think it's a great style of dress- especially for a DW. :)

I would try david's bridal then. They probably would be the fastest turn around time. I think they told me 3 months.

It took 6 months to order my dress. You wouldn't have enough time from a smaller shop.

Have you looked at dept stores like Macys or Nordstrom? I bought a dress to wear in case I get too hot at the reception at Macys and I think it would be a very pretty, casual dress for the ceremony. I can try to find it to post.

There were a ton of cocktail dresses too. You may be able to find one in white or another light color.

Thanks! I tried on a few tea length with my future MIL (completely unplanned and resulting in a mild panic attack!) and the tea length kind of cut off my legs and made me look even shorter than I am (5'3"), so it looks like I have to do knee length (not sure if I will feel 'bridal' enough) or a long one. I'm worried about the long one though as I don't want the bottom to get all dirty in the sand. Any ideas?

Lee I went to the Davids Bridal off the 495, its in Fairfax County and they had some tea length dresses. It was last year, but I am sure they will still have some, also you might find a great BM dress that they can order in white/ivory.

Hmm Nordies at Pentagon City doesn't have a very good section for this, but macy's might

I'm 5'0 and I looked silly in them too. You would think shorter looks better. David's bridal has a dress that isn't as full and might not make you look as "stumpy." I tried to find it really quick but couldn't. A few girls on the forum have worn it and it's super cute. It's shorter in the front, but a little longer in the back. It's a lace one.

I wish I could find it- maybe they don't have it anymore?

As for the sand, I wouldn't worry about it. Girls say it gets clean afterwards. I haven't really seen a clean gown after a non-beach wedding. It's white, it drags on the ground, so it's bound to get dirty.

Do what pleases you. There are some cute short dresses too. Look at Nordstrom.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
