Thank you. My wedding dress was a monique lhuillier - spent way too much money on it but it was the only dress I felt good in. And I'm so glad I chose lace overlay b/c it was so hot and i was sweating so badly:) I'm glad I read Ann and "starchild's" thread before my wedding b/c they suggested I bring another dress to change into and I think that one was a Max Studio dress.

Your pictures are great - like Jamy said, I just never tired of looking at photos from LC.

the smiles on your faces are sooo genuine - you can just see how happy you were!
Ann thanks for all your threads and advice on Las Caletas. It really helped hearing others experience of Las Caletas - especially when planning a wedding site unseen. On another note - congratulations - are you having a baby?

awww - you're welcome! i'm just glad i can help other brides and grooms the way this forum helped me to plan as well. it's both exciting and a little nerve racking getting married somewhere you've never seen, other than in photos! but i knew you wouldn't be let down ... glad i (we!) was right!

and YES - we're having a baby! we're due in July 2008 ... and so excited! so much for the anniversary trip to Caletas, but we'll make it back - i swear!

i now picture bringing our kids there on a family vaction, doing the day trip or something, and saying "this is where mommy and daddy were married" - how cool would that be?

Love your pictures! The photog did an amazing job. It's crazy that every wedding you see LC in a different way. I love the way it's able to still look unique after all the weddings we have viewed!

Congrats. You looked beautiful and it looks like your people had a fabulous time! Why were a couple of them wet? haha

Heather - what a beautiful wedding! We just had a site visit there on Tuesday and it was wonderful!!! One question - did you have any trouble getting down the stairs on your "grand entrance"?? There are so many! That was pretty much my only concern. It is such a beautiful location - love it!!!! :)

The stairs weren't too bad. I was a little nervous about the stairs too when I saw them. I had wedge shoes and I'm pretty good at walking in high heels so I just went slow. You can always leave your shoes close to the bottom of the stairs if you want. I also changed into flip flop style shoes immediately after the ceremony. I would recommend that you not spend money on the shoes and just be comfortable.

I have a couple of questions...

How much was your photographer?

Who did your hair? Did your boat them over from PV?
My photographer was a little expensive but I wanted to make sure that my pictures were great - especially since I'm not very photogenic. He's out of California so you have to pay for is air fare and a couple night hotel stay. He was awesome though. He is really cool and down to earth. And he took so many pictures. In the cost he also did a half day engagement session the day before the wedding at different spots around PV. I think he's # is on the slide show to get his current rates.
As far as my hair - Nicole booked it with a stylist from a local salon. I did a trial run a couple of days before the wedding which is highly recommended!! B/c unless you speak spanish you may need a translator. Thank goodness my step mom speaks spanish so she was able to translate what I really wanted the day of - for instance not so much hairspray!! They love the hairspray! Nicole arranged for the stylists to come over on a seperate boat around 2:30 before everyone else showed up. Ask Nicole for pricing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
