I agree with this!

Hi St Thomas brides

My names Beth and my FI and I will be married on July 3 2010 at Magens Bay at 9 in the morning. We just booked our WC today... went with Weddings the Island Way. I'm very excited and can't wait to get advice on the planning. I was originally hoping to do a catered brunch with eggs french toast and pancakes at one of the pavillions there but have now found out that Magens does exclusive catering (meaning they will not allow any outside caterers) and they don't really a brunch menu. The catering guy assured me that they can make pancakes etc but I would have to just get them from the concession stand they have there, not their catering department...which doesn't sound like it would be the best quality breakfast food. So, I'm now wondering about a restaurant that may do a catered brunch on a Saturday at 1030 or 11 am. Either that or waiting till 11 am at Magens and get their lunch catering (which would be something like hamburgers, dogs, and bbq chicken with potatoe salad and rice and beans). But if we get married at 9, pictures will probably be done by 10 and then we would have to wait about an hour for lunch, which I know people could swim and stuff but would it be weird to do the reception after some people have already got in their suits and everything? Any thoughts gals? Has anyone had breakfast at Magens or the catered Lunch there? Has anyone had a brunch receptions somewhere else on the island? Thanks for any ideas.

shakeimap,

Thank you very much for clarifying that Weddings the Island Way is NOT the wedding coordinator who responded to you like that. What they said to you is very unprofessional. I hope that everything works out for you.

BethGrubb, My suggestion is to have your wc set this up for you! Happy Planning and Congrats!

BethGrubb,

Congratulations on your wedding. How many guests are you planning on having?

I was looking at the Wedding The Island Way's website and I have a few questions, but wasn't sure about hours when someone could be reached. It's just hard for me to call during your regular 8am to 5pm CST since I am working.

I might needs to just send an email with some of my questions.

Hey girls!

I need help! A few of you have talked about Blue Glass Photography in past posts, and I am going to be using them for my wedding this December. I believe that some of you had negative experiences with some photographers while some had great experiences with others. Can you please post which are good/bad, so that I can request from my wedding coordinator?

Thank you!

Amie

Hello St Thomas brides,

My name is Tamika and my FI name is Steve

I was born and raised in Miami, Florida

I plan on having my wedding at Magen's Beach on August 14, 2010. The date is not set yet.

I am already a little overwhelmed so finding this site is a blessing.

I haven't chosen a WC as of yet but I am looking at Angela and Weddings the Island Way.

So far 75 people have expressed that they would like to come but I'm hoping it will not be more than 50 people (my family is huge.)

Tiffanyan02,

I am actually working with a planner here who is helping me with things as well. I am giving my guests the choice of AI or not as some people are familiar with the island and some are not. I plan to have about 50-75 guests and we are planning on having a travel agent organize everything as well as have a reception on the property. We were looking at the Mahogany Room.

Sorry for the confusion. And thank you for your best wishes. I feel good that I'm back on track now that I am working with Leslie Dawson. She has been amazing so far and I've received great references from her past clients on her work.

AND AGAIN FOR THE RECORD WEDDINGS THE ISLAND WAY WAS NOT MY PREVIOUS WC...LOL.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
