Hi Deb,

Sorry I've been away for a while.

Yea, I think Linquist beach is the most beautiful on St. Thomas (not to mention private). I just don't know how to fit all my guests on the beach. I'm sure it would take a lot of rentals/set up crew/etc. I still haven't ruled it out though.

I'd love to hear your experience with everything though!!! How large of a wedding are you planning on?

My fiance & I are leaving next Monday to go to St. Thomas for a week for "planning". I'm sure I'll be tempted to just lay on the beach instead though. ha ha ....Focus....focus!!! wink.gif

Good luck with your planning and keep in touch!!!

Hi everyone!

I'm joining this forum a little late in the game... but

Name: Vivian

From: Boston, MA

Getting married at: Lindquist Beach

On: May 12 2009

WC: Leslie Dawson of Perfect Weddings of St Thomas

I'm getting very nervous but excited at the same time. :)

I went with Leslie as our WC and she's been great to work with so far. She's been very helpful and responds very quickly.. which helps when planning from afar.

Swine flu worries me about traveling... but I got a prescription for Tamiflu... just in case. I've also urged my guests to do so. And we've bought lots and lots of hand sanitizers... as part of the welcome bag for guests! :)

Deb - we have the same wedding date on the same beach! :) What time is your ceremony at? I am a little worried at the fact it's a public beach but I feel assured that it will turn out great. Less than two weeks away!!

Good luck next week on your planning! That's neat. I went to St. Thomas on a cruise 4 1/2 years ago. Loved snorkeling on Coki Beach.

Our wedding will just be the two of us. We've notified everyone we're "eloping!" lol

With the swine flu thing happening, I will just be happy if they don't cancel our cruise and delay our wedding. Ugh!

Hi Vivian!

That's neat we are getting married the same day on the same beach. Our ceremony will take place around 1 p.m. When is yours? I heard Lindquist is fairly off the beaten path, so it should be secluded. We won't take long, though. My FI and I will be the only ones there. I think our photo shoot will take much longer than the ceremony.

BTW, we went with Blue Glass Photography. Saw their work all over the web and fell in love. I also want to do a TTD for part of it. Anyone else doing that?

P.S. I am nervous and excited, too!

Your coordinator should hire your photographer for you and should be a part of the wedding package. If you want to hire your own, I have some great suggestions.... Let me know!

Hi Deb! We are staying on the island so our ceremony will be early in the morning at 9. I guess we will not be crossing paths. But it's still exciting to hear we'll be sharing the same date and same beach!! pinkie.gif

Yes we're going with Blue Glass Photography as well! Oh and I also want to do a TTD but I will not be. Would love to see any bride's photos who does!!!

Wishing everyone luck!! I can't believe how quickly time goes by when it comes down to the wire!!!! woot.gif

Hi there everyone!

I am new to this site and to wedding planning! I am looking at possibly having my wedding at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef, and I am looking for some feedback on the place. The pictures look absolutely amazing, and the Havanah Blue restaurant looks exquisite. We were planning on about 75 guests, so a couple of questions if anyone as worked with them!

How did you find the service of the onsite wedding coordinator, staff?

How did you find the overall beauty of the place? (I am a bit photo crazy so am looking for some good photo opps!)

How is the food and drinks at Havanah?

Can you have the dinner and reception at Havanah? I can't tell if there is room for dancing.

How are the rooms?

Any advice you can pass my way is much appreciated!

I saw an awful review of the place on tripadvisor, and it had me a bit worried, because I got very excited about this place! We're looking for a place with a stunning view, but not a wedding on the beach.

Thanks a lot!!! :0)

We leave on Friday, flying to Orlando first, then sailing on the Carnival Glory on Saturday. SO glad we didn't choose Mexico for our wedding. I've read a ton of swine flu horror stories on the May 2009 bride thread. I feel so sorry for them!!!

I've been running around getting stuff together to leave, nearly pulling my hair out wondering if I will forget anything. FI is chilling out, having fun with his friends, being a sweetie, and basically living the "don't worry, be happy" motto. His cheerfulness, stress-free attitude is wonderful and contagious. I'm starting to calm down. Can't wait for the wedding on St. Thomas. Only 6 days now!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
