St Thomas bride update....ROLL CALL

The grassy area is next to the restaurant and bar, but it is a very quiet one. Very few people go there. The bar does not typically have anyone sitting around it at sunset, but is used to make drinks for the one or two tables that might have diners at that time. That end of the beach is not where any beachgoers sit. It will be very quiet, especially in October, which is low season. The pool is a distance away from the grassy wedding area, as are all resort rooms. The grassy wedding area is pretty, with lots of shady palms.

I have been online researching resorts .We were originally thinking going with an all-inclusive resort but I canâ€t really decide among them.

These past few months have been a little rocky financially and now Iâ€m not sure if Iâ€ll be able to plan a trip to St. Thomas this year. So I would be grateful for any first handed advice or thoughts.

I feel kind of silly and have to apologize b/c I'm still new to this forum. I went back through and re-read from the beginning of the posts and got my answers to my last post.

I do have to say that I did contact Bolongo Bay Beach Resort and after talking to my FI he agrees its sounds like what we had in mind. But I do wonder if a villa would be the way to go. I think we are still planning on inviting the same amount of guests to the DW as we originally had plan for a local wedding but I would guess maybe 20-30 ppl will go. But who knows, I may have my head in the clouds, lol

I, too, am probably going to be a St. Thomas bride. My fiancee and I have decided to wait until early 2011 to get married so we can save money before the big day! We are thinking about we'll have about 50-60 guests. We'd like a simple beach ceremony and then a typical reception hopefully on a beach area or poolside. I guess I'm just trying to decide to do it on a public beach and hire a wedding coordinator or do the whole thing at a resort, such as the Marriott. I know we are still 2 years a way, but I'm so excited to start working on small crafty details such as save the dates, etc. that I want to at least get date and location settled :) Am I way too early? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
