Welcome to the Newer St. Thomas brides!

This board is such a great resource, and the ladies on here are so very helpful. Good luck in planning your weddings!

Ashley: I'm so sorry to hear about all of the difficulties you faced on your wedding day, but glad to hear that you didn't let them ruin your special day. Thanks for sharing your experience with the rest of us.

1. Name- Elishia M.

2. Where are you from- the great West Virginia (any jokes? haha)

3. Where are you getting married in St Thomas- Magens Bay

4. When are you getting married-June 21, 2010

5. who is you WC - I'm still deciding :

I was curious as to whether any St. Thomas brides who were getting married while on a cruise (but not on the ship, on the beach) have gotten there hair done on the ship before the wedding? A WC that I've been trying to decide on says that the hair stylist they use is not allowed to board the ship and that I should get my hair and makeup done on the ship in that hair salon... Not to mention she says as soon as I get on the ship I need to drop my bags and go to the salon right then to make an appointment since they don't book appointments this early I guess? This makes me nervous! I was wondering if any other girls have done this right before they're about to get married!?

So I've been on the search for an officiant, and for some reason I'm not having much luck. For those brides who didn't end up using a coordinator, who did you use as your officiant? I feel like I don't want to hire a coordinator JUST to have an officiant, because it will cost more money.

Hey brookedanielle !!

I found an officiant for you. His name Bill Arnet @ AFFORDABLE WEDDING on St. Thomas Virgin Islands, Romantic, Inexpensive, St. Thomas Wedding. I dunno anyone personally that has used him. He does alot of weddings on the island. His prices are inexpensive and reasonable. You might want to check him out. Just a suggestion for yah!

Elishia,

Just saw your post regarding salon services when getting off the ship for your wedding. My daughter is working with Sugar and Spice Artistry, who will meet her at a hotel room near the ceremony site and do her hair and makeup there. She will only have to pay a nominal rate to use the room for 2 hours. Speaking from personal experience, I would not use the salon services on the ship. I thought that would be the easiest way to go when I got married, but I was very unhappy with the way my hair turned out; nothing like the two photos I gave them as examples.

Check out Sugar and Spice Artistry's web site and it will give you an idea of their services and costs, as a possible alternative to the ship's salon.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
