Are you allowed only one bag? I thought you were usually allowed two. But what the hell do I know. Maybe you can get family/guests to bring bags for you...

I says
Each passenger is allowed two bags, maximum Total combined weight of 44LBS
so 2 mini bags or one regular

44 lbs combined!!! Yikes, I never would have made it!
We flew US Air and we each were allowed 2 bags, 50 lbs. each.
On the way down, one bag was over, but they were really nice and didn't say anything. On the way back however, the guy was an ASS, we were over like 3 lbs. on one bag and he said we either had to fix it or pay $50, well, we couldn't really fix it at that point, so we had to pay, jerk!
Are you sure its two bags combined, that seems like nothing! Usually international travel you get more allowance.

My parents flew with sunquest and had more weight than they were allowed. they were prepared to pay for extra baggage, i think it as $35, but thankfully no one asked. they just let it slide... perhaps you'll get the same treatment.

at worst they will make you pay - but they usually don't. all depends on how generous the airline employee is feeling! lol

I KNOW I am going to be totally overweight with luggage (in Canada the only Riu tour provider is Sunquest) but I am just hoping to smile nice at check in and if that doesn't work, I will be prepared to pay whatever charges they ask because I really have no choice! I am bringing 50 travel mugs and favours with me!! AAAGHHH!! I am hoping to split some up into my parents' bags to help....

Are you sure it's not 44 kg? That would be about 100lbs...

We're going US Air first class, and we can each have 2 75lb bags. 44lbs sounds like nothing! I agree it may be kilos... if not, don't stress, just pay the fees.
