Who else's diet is out the window for the holidays?

i was doing so great - working out, eating healthy, not drinking too much, slowly losing weight UNTIL the holidays came -- i feel like a sausage!

We have been non-stop with the social holiday events - 2 to 3 per week since Thanksgiving! I know it's pretty much an excuse but i want to enjoy the events and have some wine and cheese and whatever else and not be the one in the corner with the club soda and carrots! i feel like my willpower as been eaten up by the holiday party bug.

should i just say f--k it and enjoy the next 2 weeks or stop being lazy and get my ass in the gym?

is anyone else's diet out the window?

I enjoy the holidays and the events that take place so I take part in everyone's everything. Full on dinner, desserts, and cocktails. And the treats that go around the office, and the Christmas tamales, etc. If ever there is a time to skimp - for me - it is not the holiday season.

If you've been going to the gym you may as well keep going...but if you want to take some time out from the gym it won't kill you. 2 weeks of eating and excercising poorly is a drop in the bucket if it is balanced with months of doing well. Just get back at it when the festivities pass. Don't beat yourself up over it :o)

I've been avoiding the social events. Sometimes I get together with friends instead & workout. I've gone to a few of them, but I tried to stick with stuff I don't feel so bad about. At a party saturday I had chocolate covered bananas. I also eat somthing healthy before going so I don't pig out on all the bad food. The holidays are really tough.

alyssa, i feel the same way. although i havent been to too many holiday parties, im just a lazy ass and didnt go to the gym for the last two weeks until yesterday because i was busy at work or whatever other excuse i could come up with because i was tired. what changed my mind to stop being so lazy was looking at photos of my fat butt/thighs/hips and untoned arms while trying on wedding gowns on saturday. i say it's ok to eat holiday treats, but make sure to get to the gym too. i made a promise to myself to go to the gym for a minimum of 30 mins per day, but aiming for 45-60 mins. i am just one of those people that if i stop working out i start getting pudgy almost immediately. my stupid FI doesnt ever work out and he's like a freaking bean pole! grr. i hope our kids get his genetics!

I've been eating so bad at all of our holiday gatherings! We took a picture in front of the tree yesterday and I swear my face is a big fat blob! I've been eating but still going to the gym a few days a week. If I make it in there at least 3 days a week, then I don't feel so sausage like...lol!

I am going to start my exercise and diet stuff after the holidays. I'm not trying dress on until Feb and I have ten months til the wedding. I will just stay fat for Christmas. But then I have to get serious and start exercising again. Have taken forever off and want to start running again. So hard to start...and so cold outside.

A bunch of us started a "Daily Challenges" thread back in October and were sticking to it really well. It was a great motivator, but we've all been slacking lately (at least with our posts.) I had been working out about 5 times a week until Thanksgiving and then it went down to 2 or 3 times a week. Plus, I've been VERY bad with my calories. I need to get back into it. At least I'm still working out.

Anyone have any advice on how to stay on trackhuh.gif

I said that a long time ago! I have been trying to work out a little just to get back in the swing of working out, but I am going to be hitting the gym hard core after the holidays. I really need to lose weight for the wedding. We started planning at 18 months and we are already under 11. It really flies by fast so I need to get going!

HAH! Mine’s been out the window since my wedding was over… now with the holidays and all these yummy cookies coming to the office I feel like a cookie monster. My clothes still fit… thank god. I’m lucky I guess.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
