Finally picked a dress, buyer's Remorse...

Recommended Posts

Is it normal to freak out about whether you bought the right dress or not after you bought it? I was trying to decide between 2 very different styled dresses and under pressure of the store ladies and my wedding being in 4 1/2 months, made a choice that left me freaking out the rest of the day. You only get to convey one look on your wedding day you know?

I am not sure if it's normal, but I'm pretty sure that I will be going through the same thing. I have had the worst trouble finding the dress that I like and with school finals I needed to stop for a while because I needed the weekends to study. Well I want to buy it before December is over...so it's do or die in the next couple weeks and I will just have to deal with it! :)

I'm sure you picked the right one and you obviously liked it to some extent or you wouldn't have taken the plunge! wink.gif

My friend did the same thing for her wedding and I know alot of girls on here have bought multiple dresses. So I think it's common and no matter what, you will look beautiful in your dress and your fiance will think so too!

Can you post some pics of the dresses? You should never let someone pressure you into buying a dress, but it happens. We all wonder if we got the right dress, I know I did, and still do, I loved my dress but there are so many beautiful ones out there. I can't change it now, and I don't want to, but its a hard decision to make. Did you love it? Did you feel good in it?

I'd say yes, it is normal. I think most of the girls on this site went through the same thing. And to be honest - if I could do my wedding over again, I"d have a different dress. But I still loved it - and it worked. I guess in the end it didn't matter that much to me. So sit with it for a bit - and see what you feel. YOu don't have that much time to change your mind though - a lot of dresses can take up to 6 mos to come in! I'm sure you will find something you love though, if your current dress isn't it!

Well, I hope it's normal because it happened to me!!! They say it's supposed to be the most important dress you ever wear... YEAH I freaked out! What if there was something better that I didn't find... a LOT of questions went through my head.

But in the end, when the dress is on, your hair and makeup done, and you are marrying the man of your dreams it'll be perfect. Don't worry.

Very Normal. I went through the exact same thing. I ended up going with a dress which I loved but it was more cost effective. My first choice dress I found months later on ebay for a fraction of the price. I contimplated back and forth if i made the right decision or not and decided to stick with my original gown.

Looking back I'm happy I went with my original purchase. It was more of a destination gown and once I had all the little bridal accessories it was PERFECT!

So don't worry what you're feeling is totally normal. Just wait until you have everything and you'll love it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
