I don't know how cheap you want to go, but when I was making my Christmas cards with Lumapix I was thinking that you could actually make 4x8 invitations or announcements and print through MPix with metallic paper and they'd look really cool. Tie a ribbon around them and voila...less than $1 each. I think I paid $30 with shipping for 50 cards. That might be a little more than you wanted to spend, but you could definitely do any color, any design and any font (as long as you weren't too worried about response cards- I'd definitely cut that out if you're trying to save$$).

Hmmm… not too sure if you want to do card like invitations? We did 50 invites and I got all the supplies from A.C Moore and JoAnne (local craft store) for a total of $28. That included pre-made 4x6 cards on nice pretty paper, brown stain ribbon, white and brown card stock, brads, and funky scissors. I used our printer at home and DH brought his paper cutter from work.

Don’t forget the cost of stamps… we had to send some to Canada and it cost us quite a bit looking back on postage expenses.

This is what I was thinking about doing. I'd enjoy designing them myself, but I need to figure out a cheap way to print them. Is MPix better than vista print? I'll have to check out the metallic paper.

I'd like to be able to do them for .50-.75 each. I'm not trying to be really cheap, I just know that they can be done for less like anything else. I love my $15 save the dates, so I thought I might as well try to find a cheap option for invites.

I'm going to contact a few ebay people & see what kind of deal we could workout. I don't want reply cards or inner envelopes. Just a simple flat invite with 1 envelope.

Thanks again everyone for all these great ideas!!

I'd like the paper to be thick like a card though, not like a picture. Do they print on cardstock?

I'm working on my invite tonight. I've decided I do want to design it myself, but I will get it printed through some company. I'll post what I have done so far. I've been having a lot of fun making them!

Here is what I have so far. I just started working on it so it's not perfect. I need to play with fonts still & make sure everything is centered. I anyone has any suggestions I'd be glad to hear them. Do you prefer black & white or color? BTW, the beautiful picture is jason lambert's. I used it for my OOT bag postcards. I still need to play around with pictures. I might try for more of a pencil sketched look.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
