I have a few questions:
- I'm having a religious wedding. Do we still have to be there 3 business days in advance?
- How long is the ride to the resort? I've heard it's 2 hours. Is that correct?
- I have heard there is no night life at Dreams Tulum. Is that true?

Thanks for all of the great information on this forum. If it weren't for y'all I would have never been able to decide!
Congrats on picking a location! You guys are going to love the resort!

Not sure about how long you have to be there for the religious ceremony, since we had the symbolic, but 3 days sounds right. It should be on the wedding form that either Sandra or Landy sent you.

The ride is about 2-2 1/2 hours. I know that part stinks, but our driver stopped at the store for us and we got some beverages and snacks, then the drive wasn't that bad. Also, our TA set up direct transfers for us, for $20 per person to and from the hotel, so our drive was only 2 hours. Everone in our party got the direct transfer and we were glad we did.

There is a disco that was quiet entertaining most night. They also had the nightly shows that all of our guests loved.

Lisa, I guess I am having the symbolic ceremony as well, we aren't getting legally married in Mexico. How is the symbolic ceremony? If I choose the symbolic can we arrive on Wednesday and get married on Friday?

I'll definitely go with the direct tranfer!

Glad to hear the shows and disco are entertaining. We make our own fun so I'm sure we will have no problem hanging around the resort with all inclusive drinks :)

We got there Wed and got married Friday. We met with Sandra Thursday morning and went over everything. She was so great. I gave her all my things I brought for the wedding along with my OOT bags and $20. She gave them to one of the guys and he passed them all out for us. He was very happy to do it for $20.

We walked around the entire resort and she gave us different location options. It really put my mind at ease once I was there.

The disco was cheesy, but we are the same way. We had so many people with us that we pretty much took it over. They will also let you pick your own music - - which was great! There was a hipmotis (sp?) there one night and that was really fun!

Lisa,

I am also getting married january 24th at Dreams Tulum. What do you mean by connector for the Ipod? We are bringing our Ipod and so is all of our friends so their will not be a shortage of music but I was wondering how we would play it for the wedding. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
