Dreams Tulum- I Finally Picked My Place!

Recommended Posts

After much research I chose Dreams Tulum and my date is 6/27/07!!! I'm so happy I finally got this done!! YAY! Now I can move along and do the fun stuff! smile72.gif

I have a few questions:

- I'm having a religious wedding. Do we still have to be there 3 business days in advance?

- How long is the ride to the resort? I've heard it's 2 hours. Is that correct?

- I have heard there is no night life at Dreams Tulum. Is that true?

Thanks for all of the great information on this forum. If it weren't for y'all I would have never been able to decide!

Congrats on choosing your location!!! Yes, it is about a 2 - 2 1/2 hour ride depending on how many stops your van / car has to make on it's way there. My ride took about 3 1/2 hours due to my driver getting lost trying to find someone else's hotel on the way. Not really sure about the night life - I was only there for 2 nights - I do know they have a disco there.

If you are worried about the long car ride and the multiple stops along the way, I would suggest CancunValet. They are VERY highly recommended and it's a private transfer which should cut down on time.

1. No. That's just for legal ceremonies
2. Depends on how you go about it. I made it down there in just over an hour in our rental car.
3. Partly true. Its a pretty quiet place to begin with. There are always people hanging out at the outdoor bars at night though. If you want more action, take a taxi to Tulum Pueblo or even up to Playa Del Carmen.

Congrats on making the choice too!

Thanks ladies. I will look into Cancun valet so that the ride will be shorter and reccomend it to family and friends as they will be arriving after us. I would rent a car but I've only been to Mexico 3 times and I've never drove. I'm too chicken to try now :)

I'm sure we can stay busy at the hotel but would love to go into Playa one night. Is the drive far?

Playa is about 40 minutes away. Well worth the drive though. Easiest way is to take a collective van for a few bucks which takes you right near the bus station downtown.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
