will my veil fly?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if my chapel length veil is going to fly up in the air while I walk down the isle? we are having our wedding on the beach and I'm concerned a sea breeze may gust and blow my veil up in crazy directions while I walk down the isle and during the ceremony. Any previous brides who had an outside wedding with a long chapel length veil have any of these kinds of problems? Or is the veil heavy enough to with stand? i keep imagining myself walking down the isle and my veil blowing in my guests' faces!! smile120.gif

Funny now but not then.

I may just get a birdcage type veil if it's definitely a possibility.

I don't know from experience, but I would think a chapel length has enough fabric to weigh itself down, but you could always use some clear double-sided tape to attach it to your dress in a couple of key spots, or even some loose tack-stitches in a thread that matches your dress and veil. Hope those ideas help---?

I'd really like to wear it so i'm happy to hear that it worked out okay for you. thanks for the feedback!!

It was very windy where I got married (on the beach) and my veil was blowing around. It looks awesome in some pics and it bugged me a little bit, but not enough for me to wish I did not wear my beautiful veil. So, I think you should go for it, it would not be that bad even if it did blow around.

I wore a blusher length veil and boy did it blow around. We had to switch places during the ceremony so it didn't keep flying in my face. But I'm glad I wore it because it looked wonderful in the pics and made me feel like a bride. A longer veil should have enough weight to stay in place. So you should be ok.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
