Spanish vs. English Ceremony

I would like to get married in Mexico (Playa Del Carmen) but my fiance is apprehensive about the Spanish to English translation. He'd prefer to just have it in English. From what I've read it has to be in Spanish if we want the legal ceremony.

 

Has anyone faced a similar dilemma? If so - how did you cope?

 

Any advice?

We are signing our legal paperwork in the US a few days before we leave for our wedding. It will only be a symbolic ceremony for us, but it will still be done in Spanich with an English translation from our WC or a guest whom we pick.

 

We could do it all in English, but decided it would be nice to have it more authentic to the area that we are marrying, so we decided to stick with the Spanish ceremony.

 

We are doing a Hand Ceremony and some readings (maybe) and those will be read in English only by a few guests that we ask to take part.

If you want a legal ceremony, it has to be in Spanish (unless I guess you get an English-speaking judge, but not likely). We actually enjoyed the Spanish/English ceremony and felt that it contributed to the charm and atmosphere of getting married in Mexico :)

At my sister's (which was symbolic) wedding, the ceremony was spanish then translated into english. The spanish ceremony was very pretty, even if I was the only one who understood. It was cute because they answered their vows in spanish...but hesitantly...since they weren't sure what they were agreeing to. Si?

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
