Southern CA gals - bridal store recs

Recommended Posts

Any recommendations for stores with a very large selection of dresses? Do I really have to drive an hour or more to Orange County to go to Mon Amie and The White Dress and if so, are they worth it?

Also, any recs on where to find Jenny Packham besides RMine Bridal in the Valley?

Thanks!

I don't think Mon Amie is worth it...they are rather snobbish. They do have a wonderful selection though.

All of my married friends went there to try on dresses and have bad experiences all of which didn't buy their dress there. A couple bought their dress from Marry Me Bridal.

I purchased my dress from a smaller botique in Fullerton called the Dresser Bridal CoutureThey are actully in the process of moving to a bigger location now. I looked at Mary Me Bridal and a couple of other places that seemed to carry similar dresses. I never bothered with Mon Amie because I knew I wasn't planning on spending more than $5000 for my dress, so I didn't want to go there and fall in love with something that was way over my budget. The Dresser had a great selection and the salesgirl I worked with Dianna was very sweet and very low pressure. She actually told me when to come back as the dress would likely go on sale. I waited, and it was on sale when I went back for it since it was from last season.

how odd, I had a great experiance at Mon Amie, however I had no idea that their dresses were so pricey! I was reccommended by two other brides and traveled about an hour to get there. But it was the first store I went to and kind of enjoyed it. However, I knew I wasn't going to purchase a dress that day and after looking at the prices, knew I wasn't going to get my dress there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
