Nice to have you back Jill! I'm glad the wedding went so well! Your tips at the end are priceless - I just read them to Martin. I need to research what meds to take down to Mexico (I know they're around here somewhere, just need to search). I am so afraid of getting a bug while down there. I've been sooo lucky thus far in my travels...

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jill,

What an awesome review!!! I was waiting for this...

I am so glad you had a wonderful time and that your wedding went off so well!!! You had so many amazing things for your guests...I would have loved to be there...

I can't wait to see your pics.

So is the construction at FA really bad? I mean we will only be there for the wedding, so one night...but you said they were building a wall behind he firepit and the condo construction...will we hear that all during the wedding?

Thanks again for the review...when my mind is clear from school in the next 2 weeks I will be referencing it alot closer! :)

Honestly, it really bothered me on Tuesday & Wednesday. I actually completely fixated on it. But once my guests arrived, I didn't even notice it. The part in the Imperial Suite should be finished quickly, it looked like they were adding a retaining wall for support and it needed to be done. But if I was the bride that got married there on the same weekend, I wouldn't have been happy about that surprise. I can't imagine that taking very long though, so you should be fine!

The condo/timeshare construction is a big project and has been going on for at least a year, maybe a year and a half. There was never any work being done the three times we visited before our wedding, and of course, they started working in November! Once they get the walls/supports finished it will be quieter, right now they were working on the welding of it all. I will add, they did honor their promise and all construction stopped at 3pm on the day of our wedding, my father made sure of that!

The restaurant is really annoying. It looks like they're adding another level to it, so it looks like it might be a semi-long project? The real annoyance is that not only is that construction right in the middle of the pool areas, but it's also the only restaurant open for lunch. And having the limited menu meant I ate the same thing every day...

But really, I completely ignored it, and just got over it. It was certainly out of my control, and I just didn't let myself get worked up about it. But on Tuesday, I was livid. Totally livid, in tears, etc.

But for anything happening after December or January, I'm sure it'll be ok!

What an absolutely perfect sounding wedding and reception and all-around experience! I love the vows and the pictures look like it was a beautiful set-up. You did a fab job describing everything ... I feel like I was there ... adn I love all of the uniqueness that you put into it. Not everyone will understand the amount of effort it obviously took for you to pull off an event like that! CONGRATS and CHEERS!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
