Grrrrrr! Checked baggage issues!

Hi everyone! I work at an airline, and today I am in the baggage area where we get your bag when somewhere on the baggage belt the tag has gotten pulled off and now we need to try and find who it belongs to so we can get it on the right track to meet up with them. My biggest pet peeve for the day is when we get a bag that actually has one of those little airline paper name tags attached to a handle, but IT'S NOT FILLED OUT!!! Why would you even bother! We even find those tags stuck in pockets and buried between layers of clothes, BLANK! The most important piece of luggage advice I can give you all is you can never have enough ID on and in a bag. The best thing is to put in a correct copy of your itinerary in an outside or inside pocket of the luggage. It needs your name, contact info, and what city and flight numbers for your final destination. This helps to make it sooo much easier for us to get your bag to you as soon as possible, especially if you have very important items going to an international destination! Oh yeah, and never check keys, meds, and high value stuff! Carry them on! OK, thanks for letting me vent!

good advice! I'll start doing this. We had someone take our bag. So we picked up the bag that looked just liked ours & tried to contact them. They had borrowed the luggage from someone else, so it had this other person's phone number on it. We had to have this person call the ones with our bag. They finally got a hold of them & they drove back to the airport and gave us our bag. It would have been so much easier if they just put the right info on the tag!!!

we get this so often! people think that because it has their friends info on it that means we can get ahold of them somehow. but think about the extra time we would save if we just had YOUR info! i think about these things differently than other people who just do it for fun (travel), but because i am involved in the industry for a living i get so frustrated that people dont think about these things! i guess until it actually affects you, why would you care? :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
