Need your help ladies. I am trying to find some pics of Ocho Rios, Jamaica so I can order some postcards. Me and Carly have been discussing it and my pics are too small. How do I search for (and save) larger pics that would work for me. How do I know if the ones that I do find are too small? ...I am DIY challenged so please bear with me.

I'm not positive, but perhaps you could go to Tripadvisor and look at the candid traveler photos. if you find one you like you could e-mail the person and ask for rights to ithuh.gif? I'm not sure if you need rights if it's not a professional photo, but maybe?

I check to see if they are big enough in a couple ways. A simple way is to upload it into snapfish or shutterfly & try to order a 4x6. it will tell you if the resolution is too low for that. Another way is to open it in photoshop if you have the program & go to "image size" and see how big the resolution actually is.

This is what the resoultion needs to be:

Image Resolution : Maximum print size

less than 640x480 : only wallet-size prints recommended

640x480 : absolute minimum resolution for 4x6 (results will vary)

1024 x 768 : minimum recommended resolution for 4x6

1152 x 864 : minimum recommended resolution for 5x7

1600 x 1200 : minimum recommended resolution for 8x10 or larger

I made a postcard for LadyP with a picture that was really too low in resolution. Most images you snag off the internet will be low resolution. I expanded the resolution in photoshop, but doing that doesn't always work. It can make the picture look a little strange. I don't know if she has received the postcards yet, but if they look good then we know that works. I just did a bunch of pictures this way for a friend & they all printed fine.

I got a high resolution image by posting on the forum that I was looking for one. Jason was nice enough to send me a beautiful picture of riviera maya (my current desktop background).

That being said...could someone send us pics of Jamaica - beach pics, palm tree pics, etc...something that would work for a postcard? Thanks.

I used a hi-res picture of my own of a palm tree that I had taken in Miami (this is not the hi-res version!).

I can wait that long, just not sure that Carly can. She will be back on here in a couple of days so we'll see. Thanks for the offer.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
