How to decide where to get married?

I am like you. A co-worker did her wedding in Costa Rica (she's from that area though) last year so I didn't want to consider that area. I don't know much about DR and Mexico, but they are cheaper than Bahama and some other Caribbean places so you probably can start there. Talk to a TA too, they can give you really good suggestions on the location. welcome3.gif to the forum and good luck planning!!

Oh well!
i have curly hair too...i'm bringing LOTS of products, lol...it also depends on the time of year.

didn't dreams in punta cana just open recently? that could be the reason for the mixed reviews, but dreams in pv also has mixed reviews....definitely talk to a travel agent and see what (s)he has to say....

If I could leave the MIL home I would and it is a shame because she has only gotten this way since he started talking about getting engaged, but he is her BABY boy...27 haha

The Dreams in the Dominican was the old Sunscape the Beach. They are doing some renivations and the name changes sometime this month officially, but people have commented that the regular rooms are the gross rooms, and some of the photos of the mold and tarantulas are really gross.

I guess I just have to keep reading! Thanks everyone. My gf's mom did all of this when she got married, so I don't have anyone else that has done this. Once my place is set, I'm sure I will be able to relax!

so since I am not doing that (heehee), i've got to think there's a location that meets all MIL's requirements (blech). the girls on here are so helpful - i'm sure we can find something!
D I T T O !!! I love you Ann, you are so subtle :)

Man, that MIL sounds a little high maintenance. Maybe you just need to get her a prescription for some Xanax & then she'll get on whatever plane you tell here too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
