i fund a photographer in cancun also Lidya Solemidt, who look V good - this is what she sent me when i asked about Moon palace not letting local photographers in -

Thank you for your prompt reply! Regarding the Moon Palace Hotel, yes they have that rule of not accepting outside vendors. Few years ago I did some weddings there before they were so hard about that point, but then the weddings business grew up so much at the hotel and they made their own suppliers inside the hotel and like that they win money with everything, another business for them, in fact they have too many weddings at the hotel and all the weddings are basically the same, it is a kind of the MacDo for the weddings; the times is already set up, the pictures are the same (traditional and the same positions for all of them, their photographers are not professionals), flowers, etc… But recently speaking with a colleague that is photographer also him told me that he made a wedding at the Moon Palace, him told me that the client must speak with the wedding coordinator or the area manager in order to explain him that you want to hire an outside photographer for your wedding. My colleague told me that at the beginning they don’t wanted to accept it, but the client was so angry and told them that if they don’t let her bring their own photographer they will cancel all the reservations and the wedding and will change of hotel (of course she was kidding, it was just a way to press them…) and it WORKS! So maybe you have to try it, first speak very cordially with your wedding coordinator and her/him know about your decision, if that doesn’t works then you speak with the manager and tell him or her that you have the right to hire any other supplier for your wedding and that they don’t have to limit your choice to their choice. If that doesn’t works then you make the plan B… hahahah, tell them about a possible cancellation of everything but you must be rude with them, and be hope it works this time! J By my part I can’t do anything, only you are the one that can do that I be shooting your wedding.

 

i just don't know if i can hadle the pain of having to be nasty and what if they turn around and say well change hotel - what are you supposed to do then?

Keep this in mind....there is absolutely nothing they can do if you happen to have friends or family who just so happen to have really nice cameras. When you find your photographer, just tell everyone they are related to you...even though they are not, and the hotel cant stop them from taking photos.They may not like it, but too bad for them. We have had to do this before and I am sure we will do it again and again in the future. Boy, we are related to a lot of people. HAHA!

oh i know its just going to be a night mare - wont they be suspsious of my Mexican 'relation'

i am not sure which route to go down the pretending i am going to cancle my wedding or the pertending they are related>
