By the hour or Unlimited Coverage??

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

I would like to know your opinion on the following subject:

What do you prefer, a comfy price per hour covering only the essentials or a more expensive unlimited coverage package?? Photo and video-wise.

What's the best value for money for you?

Any comments??

Thank you,

Hi Dino,

Personally, I prefer photographers who offer hourly rates. I am in the process of looking for a photographer right now and I don't want all the fancy big packages that offer a coffee table book or special photo retouching. I am in the publishing business and I can do these things myself.

What is most important to me is someone who offers me the option to sort of design my own package by choosing how many hours I want. The second most important thing to me is that I can have all the photos. I don't like that some photographers won't give you all of your photos and you can only choose some of them. It is important to be able to have my photos on a CD so that I may print them however I like. I feel like the hourly rate is a much better value from the quotes I've gotten so far because I don't have to pay for any "extras" that I don't feel I need or want.

That being said, I think some people would like to also have the option for unlimited coverage. Sometimes I wish I could mix and match the things I like about different photographers because nobody seems to have exactly the type of package that I want. I am sure others feel this way too.

Personally, for photo I like the unlimited coverage. I don't want to stress about how many hours I need. At the end of the day I don't want to look back and say "I wish my photographer would have stayed for the cake cutting" or have a moment pass where someone says "where is your photographer for this? It would make a great photo."

Video on the other hand I think hourly would be what I am looking for. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a video since realistically I will probably watch it five times in my life and four of them will be the week I get back! So I would like a VERY affordable hourly rate in which I can choose to only tape the ceremony so I can hear our vows again.

Just my two cents.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
