Christmas Tree Theme...

I thought it would be fun to see how everyone decorates their Christmas Tree!!!

I know some people like the traditional colored lights and ornaments representing gifts from people, etc...

Some people (like my sister) have a color scheme (that has to match her house decor), etc...

So what is the theme of your tree? (pics once tree assembled would be fun too!

I will start...

I have in the past been doing a silver, white and blue theme...kinda wintery. I have in the last year or so bought more reds and silvers to change it out...so I'm not sure what I will do this yearhuh.gif :)

We do white lights and all kinds of ornaments that have been collected/given/passed down over the years. i love it! And Shawn does an amazing job with the lights. There are literally like 20 strands of lights on the tree and it's SO beautiful!

I love Christmas, I dont have the tree up yet but my decorations are all red and gold. I have the multicoloured lights though. I actually was thinking about changing my colour scheme to blue and silver but the ornaments can be soooo expensive! Might just stick with what I have! LOL!

I hope this works and is not a duplicate...having issues posting...

I don't have a theme per say, but every x-mas we get a special ornament of the year. I started this when I first moved in with FI, I bought a hallmark ornament with a cute couple sitting on a c-shaped moon. It has a little string dangly thing with a star and the year on it, right below the moon and you pull it and the couple kisses. It's supper cute cuz the girl is brunette like me, and the boy is blondish like FI. Every year since then we have chosen an ornament that represents something special about that year. We have not chosen our ornament for this year yet, but it'll be our 6th one (think).

We also add some other ornaments that have been gifts from other people to fill in our tree. Once we set up our tree I will post a pic.

If I could have it my way, I'd totally be like your sister and have my tree color scheme match my house decor because I'm a freak like that. Unfortuantely, DH doesn't always adhere to my guidelines and therefore we have an assortment of ornaments. I would love a more uniform look, but alas, Brian will pop up with all these crazy Christmas decorations and foils my plans.

We however only use clear lights, not colored. But we don't really have a "theme" per say, unless you count chaos as one of them. I don't even know if we'll get to have a tree this year. Depends on how fast I can get he living cleaned out and set up sad.gif

I like the white lights. For the last 15 christmas' my mom has been giving me xmas ornaments and decorations. Most of my ornaments are snowmen, I'm obsessed with snowmen decorations and ornaments. My tree kind of has a country look to it, because many ornaments are old fashioned. I also have a christmas village that my mom gives me new pieces to every year. I can't wait to decorate this year, it's my 2nd xmas in my house and last year I had my wisdom teeth taken out so I didn't enjoy decorating as much. If I decorate this weekend i'll post a pic of my tree!

My FI and I decorate our tree in red and gold ornaments with white lights. I also would like to match the decor in the house but we agreed on these colors because they are like the Redskins colors! I even tried to wrap all the presents in coordinating colors, ribbons and bows but the FI put his foot down. I guess we have to pick our battles. :)

My brother and his wife get two trees every year. He gets to decorate his with all Star Wars ornaments and she gets to decorate hers any way she wants. The Star Wars tree is actually very nice.

For those thinking about switching out your theme or colors, wait until after the holidays and then go buy your ornaments. You can get great deals on them. That is what we do. Otherwise they can get very expensive!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
