Places to stay in the Dominican Republic

Recommended Posts

Corrin and I (Chris) are new to the forum, I happed to stubble across it through my friend "Google." We have been trying to find our destination wedding location and have started by looking at Paradisus Palma Real, Paradisus Punta Cana, and recently Hideaway Beach Resort. Of course we are not stuck on the DR, we just started there. We will consider any and all places, as we are also researching the Outer Banks in North Carolina and Florida locations, and places like Mexico, Jamaica, etc.

I have read some of the information you have here at the forum and you all are very nice in helping. We look forward to joining the community :)

Basic information: 60 guests max plus us 2 (but we'll probably have 40-50 attend), half live in Illinois half from New Jersey, flexible wedding date but hopefully Spring 2009, all of our guests will be over 21 except for one 2-year old, and we are looking to have a beach wedding. We also want to try and keep the expenses low for our guests who are flying in and coming to our special day.

Our budget for our wedding and honeymoon will probably be around the $20,000 area. I know several of you have researched many of these places, any advice or help would be much appreciated that would fit our needs.

THANKS!!!

Corrin and Chris

welcome4.gif to the forum. You have a lot of searching through this site to do and that might help you decide on a location. I got married in Cuba so I can't help you, but plenty of people on here got married or are getting married in DR, Mexico and Jamaica. Happy planning.

We are marrying at Paradisus Punta Cana and honeymooning at the Palma Real. Your guest list expectations and budget are similar to our ... and that being said Palma Real will most likely be out of your budget. That's why we decided to honeymoon there instead.

We have close to 50 adults confirmed thus far and 2 kids (expecting 55-60 adults and 6 kids total). We are very happy with choosing PPC and have had good luck with our wedding coordinator there as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
