OOT bags- Hotel fee for handing out

Recommended Posts

I am wondering what most of you are paying to have the hotel hand out your OOT bags at the front desk? We just were told the Sheraton in town is going to charge us $5 per bag to give them to our guests at the front desk!! That will be $70 for this.

We were quoted $1 a bag (brought to the room) in Tahoe. I asked FH to tell them we are looking at another hotel that is offering to do it for $2 in hopes that they will lower the price.

We have a plan "B" so I am not too worried about it.

Tell me what you are paying. Pretty please!

I'm getting married at the Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana. They charge $4 to deliver them to the rooms, they don't give the handing out at the desk option. Maybe i'll ask if that's cheaper but doubt it. I'm refusing to pay that much. I couldn't get the wedding date I wanted so my wedding is the day before so I think me and FH are going to go a couple of days ahead of everyone. So i'll just wait in the lobby for everyone to get in and hand them out myself. We'll c how that goes! I know more work for me but i know i'd be waiting in the lobby for everyone to get there anyway, might as well save the $200.

I did not want to trust someone to hand them out correctly and to not take some things from the bags. I am usually a trusting person, but to have them all sitting there waiting for people seemed to tempting to me. So, I did not even ask about the fee, I just handed them all out myself. Also, we got to see everyone's happy faces when we gave them to them and they all thanked us and tore into the bags like kids at Christmas, it was fun. So I am happy we handed them out ourselves.

Are your OOT Bags replacing your favors??

I'm giving favors to my guest the at the reception dinner. I will ask the hotel to place them at every two chairs (one favor bag per couple). I heard that they don't charge for this. If they do, I will find a way to do it myself.

I did OOT bags as a gift to all guests for coming to the wedding. I really did not do favours because I thought people had enough to carry home. I did have Starfish name tags for each person and most kept those. And in all honesty, I am not a fan of favours at weddings, I usually always give it away or leave it there, I find them kinda useless. If its food, that is a different story, but the gifts, I never keep them. If I do they end up a thrift store because I have enough nick nacky stuff in my house, I don't need more. lol

heheheh Great point! However, I'm doing these neat deck of cards (all Sébastien's family is really into cards) oval shaped. I'm only giving them to each couple (no sense having two decks for each couple) and I'm making bookmarks with beach beads on them. Hopefully they won't throw them out! hehe

Those do sound very nice. I would not throw out a bookmark or cards for sure. Good thinking.

Thanks girls. We just found an even better hotel and they are not charging us!! I guess they don't like to put them in the rooms incase they need to move rooms around.

We are not doing favors that day but we are doing a candy buffet which people will take the treats home so in a round about way it is a favor.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
