Questions for Site Visit

My TA has a co-worker who is going to our resort on vacation starting on Saturday for a week.

So, she has scheduled an appointment with my WC and is going to do a site visit for me and answer any questions that I have.

This is what I've asked so far...

Can you help me think of anything else?

1-They have a new Gazebo that we want to use for the ceremony. I'm wondering if it will be really windy at that Gazebo location at 3pm? If it is, we'd rather do the ceremony in the gardens off the lobby.

2-If the Gazebo IS a good choice -- which bar is closest to the Gazebo, so I can direct guests to that bar for the post-ceremony/pre-reception cocktails while we finish up or pictures.

3-We were also hoping to do a beach reception from 5-8pm (but my Mom is concerned it will be too windy as well. So, I'm just trying to get a feel for how bad the wind is and if the sand blows too in the afternoon/evenings and if she would recommend a beach reception or a reception in another location.) If she thinks the beach reception WOULD be too windy - what does she suggest as a good alternative (we want to have a buffet dinner and then cocktails/dancing).

4-We are having a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding for 22 people, and I'd like to know which restaurant she recommends for a "casual elegance" type of atmosphere.

5-We are having informal cocktail receptions each evening to welcome the new guests as they arrive. We planned on using the Lobby Bar for this -- but I wonder if there are other bars that aren't so far away from everything else that might be a better option? I need to put these locations in our Welcome Letter that I send out to guests ahead of time -- so it's not something we can decide upon arrival.

6-Will the guest rooms all be in the same building/general area? Is it possible to ensure the rooms are close together, or is there a building she suggests we request that is in a good location? And, how close will our room (in Royal Service) be to the regular guest rooms?

7-Can we pay the balance of our wedding/reception costs with a credit card -- or should we bring Travelers Checks?

Maybe ask:
  1. Who will be available on site the day of the wedding
  2. If it is too windy, will they provide tents or other alternatives
ah, yes, I definitely need to make sure my WC will be available and with us the whole day! Thanks for reminding me!

I know they do have tents (well, tents w/o sides) but not sure if they cost extra. I'll check on that too!!!

Thanks!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
