I first met Jeff in 1992 because we had mutual friends. We always managed to hang around in the same group of people and he dated 3 of my really good friends through high school and college. Then I got married and he was in a serious relationship for about 5 years and we kinda went our separate ways. I ended up divorced and he broke up with his girlfriend, so we started hanging out together as friends. That was in December 2004... fast forward a year and a half and we are now still best friends, but also soulmates. I guess we both needed to go through all our crappy relationships to find out what we really wanted. He proposed on Memorial Day this year.

So, to answer your question- we've been together 2 years, but have known eachother for so long, it just feels like we've been together forever!

I met Hanssel (yes, thats his name!) at a friends Graduation Party in May2004. He is good friends with her then FI. The funny thing is that we actually were introduced prior about a year before when the same couple became engaged! However we don't remember meeting each other. Which was good because I had just ended a 5+ yr. realtionship and he had just ended a 2 yr. relationship. (I was on an "I hate guys" mode). But the second encounter was perfect and I was ready for him!

Dave and I met on 11/01/01 at a "Think and Drink" MBA Happy Hour. My friend dragged me there as her "wingman" but I ended up meeting my future husband instead and she went home dateless. Dave was in his last year of grad school. We dated casually until I knew he was planning on sticking around in Austin. We got more serious in the summer of 2002. He asked my father for my hand in July 2005, but proposed to me in October of 2005. I'm still amazed my parents were able to keep the secret so long. Dave found out he got a new job in Dallas the day before he proposed (althogh he'd planned the trip and proposal long before). So, I had to decide to marry him and leave Austin for Dallas all at the same time. I never had any doubts about him. We got married on October 28, 2006. So, fall is a really great time for us. I'm so happy to call him my husband now. In total, I'd say we've been together 5 years. But, as Janet says, the clock seems to start over when you get married. wink.gif

OK, I've been meaning to post to this thread for DAYS now!

Rafael & I met at work in 2004. I was actually on the panel that interviewed him to come work for the company. He came to work for us & we went to lunch one day to discuss a business issue. We ended up going to lunch once a week or so for about 6 months on a friendly basis. Finally in April of last year we went on our first official date on Easter since neither of us had plans. A lunch date turned into a dinner date and now here we are! He is the man that I've been waiting for and it was so reassuring to have him come into my life. He proposed to me this year in April. So I guess we've been together a year & a half.

Marc and I met in New York City over Thanksgiving weekend 4 years ago. I was visiting my friend who lived there and he was visiting his friend who lived there. Well our two friends knew each other and a big group of us got together to go see a band play. Marc & I got to talking and it turned out we both lived in Newport Beach, CA 2 miles from each other and worked down the street from each other?!? We ended up hitting it off and he called me when he got back. We had our first date over lunch and the rest is history. We got engaged after 3 years, but have been together 4 years total!

He is soo wonderful and I never thought I would ever meet someone I am so compatible with. I never had any insecutities or any doubts about his feelings for me, or my own for that matter. It felt so easy. It has never been so easy and I have never been so happy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
