Hi There! Just joined this forum, I'm looking for info on how soon we should be booking our preferred wedding date and do we do it directly with the resort? We were hoping for April 2019 as we just decided on a destination wedding, originally were looking at Cabo as we travel there quite often but friends suggested we look at Royalton Riveira Maya and it looks like a fantastic venue for our wedding!! Any help/ suggestions would be appreciated!

Also when you block your rooms do you do that through your TA or do I contact the resort directly? Feeling so out to lunch with all this and it's only the beginning!

Congratulations Jenn & welcome to the BDW forum!! Royalton Riviera Cancun is an awesome resort and has something for everyone. It's family friendly, has The Hideaway for adults only, great restaurants, spa, nightlife and more.

I highly recommend using a travel agent for your group block. A TA will typically get the best rates for your group and will provide personalized service for your guests.

Wright Travel Agency is the official BDW travel agency. All agents are destination wedding specialists, do not charge any additional service fees and would be happy to answer any questions you have and get the planning process started.

Please click the link below if you'd like to have a WTA agent contact you. Thanks! TA Patty

Hi Jenn,

TA Wendy here! I second what TA Patty has stated. The Royalton is a great property. In a great location, with easy arrival and departure transfers to the airport included with your group package. The property has an Adults only section for those who wish to be apart from the family friendly side of the resort.

They have some great wedding locations and their wedding department has proven to be helpful and willing to work with couples to make the wedding day magical!

The restaurants are excellent and the buffet is like no other in size and variety of goodies!

To answer your question about the rooms/ vs the wedding day itself, often couples choose to book their actual wedding, and work with an on site wedding coordinator at the resort pertaining to the details of the wedding... flowers, colors, linens, etc.

We CAN also assist in getting your wedding date booked for you if you are in need of a bit of help.

As TAs who specialize in Destination Weddings, we at Wright Travel would be of the biggest help to you with blocking your rooms, speaking with your guests, taking everyone's payments, arranging transfers, (and air if needed), and delivering your documents.

We also can offer some nice group incentives for you as bride and groom, and we are happy to explain the process.

Just click above and fill out a "Contact Me" form and one of our Wright Travel Agents will be right back in touch with you!!

All the best for your engagement and planning!

TA Wendy

Hello there,

I am a fellow Royalton bride! I am getting married February 14, 2019. I confirmed my date directly with the resort about six months ago, I recommend you do it sooner than later if you want your ceremony/reception in a certain location ( I am in love with the sky terrace ) because they do book up. I also recommend booking your room block with a travel agent because they can get you extra perks depending on how many people you book. I can give you my TAs info if you want, I love her! Another big help along this journey has been joining the Facebook group 'Royalton Riviera Cancun Brides 2017/2018' It is a group of past, present, and future brides full of advice. Let me know if you have any questions and happy planning!

I’m a July 2018 bride. Congrats!!! I used Raylene at Ever After TA to find the perfect venue. I ended up choosing Royalton Riviera and I am definitely happy I did. We are a little over 100 days out and I have 70 guests booked and all the details planned out with the resort. So I guess I’m just sitting back at this point looking for makeup ideas. Definitely use a TA for the room blocks. Mine made a website for us and was there for me every step of the way. She was in constant contact with me and gave the best advice. This hotel has wedding written all over it. I feel so lucky that I get to have my wedding there. Their packages are awesome.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
