Hey everyone! We just got engaged!!  :D

We immediately thought of Cancun and saw so many pictures of stunning Indian weddings. Google searches showed so many Indian / South Asian wedding packages (Dreams has two different ones - Dulha and Dulhan Package and Shaadi Package for example).

It looks like a lot is included, but the prices are so high and it's hard to know what the Indian food will taste like. Also it's a little annoying but it says that the extra cost per person above the 50 or 100 included is decided by each resort. Why can't they just be consistent?

Anyways, anyone have any tips or pointers? I have reached out to a few agents but they haven't been all that helpful... We are thinking of December 2018 if that's helpful!

Hi there! Congratulations on your engagement :) You have definitely come to the right place to find a ton of insight, advice and resources for planning your destination wedding!

Cancun/Riviera Maya is a wonderful destination for a South East Asian/Indian wedding -- they are quote popular in that area. I know you mentioned having reached out to a few agents but not receiving much help, but I would highly suggest contacting the BDW Travel Agents -- they are the official agency for this forum. These agents specialize in destination weddings and have helped plan Indian destination weddings so they have a lot of experience and insight in this area. They will also be able to give you suggestions on resorts that cater to larger wedding groups to get your best the packages for your group, including who offers great Indian food! The Wright Travel agents actually attended a conference in the area specializing in Indian weddings, so they have tried the food and can give you honest opinions on what to expect :) You can contact them HERE! or visit the agency's website: www.wrighttravelagency.com

In addition, make sure to check out the articles with regards to Indian destination weddings on this site, here's that section! These articles may give you some additional guidance as you plan your celebration. https://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/tags/ccs/Indian+Weddings/

Hope that helps!!!  :D

Thanks for the advice! I checked out the articles and they were definitely helpful (so cool that there are so many vendors that have Indian decorations there!). I was hoping to find a more comprehensive comparison of hotels, perks, and what each specialize in as this will be a larger event and we are definitely on a budget, so want to get the most bang for our buck. I found an agency called ShaadiCancun that specializes in Indian weddings there and had all the info for budget breakdown and package comparison by resort.

The good news is they think my budget is totally do-able so hopefully I'll be a Cancun bride soon :)

I'm still torn on doing December 2018 - any brides have experience with weather and suggestions on the best time of year do a wedding?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
