This was incredibly helpful!  Thank you for putting this together for us :)  

 

We are looking at a spring (likely late April) 2019 wedding and are narrowing down the location.  I'm thinking Bareclo since we have such a range in guest age and interest (sounds like you did also!).  

 

Seriously - this document was SUPER helpful.  Random internet stranger says THANK YOU!

@@smfahey Thank you very much for your detailed review! This will be very helpful when I start planning my wedding at the Barcelo Maya! 

 

I am getting married in April 2019 and am looking into photographers at the moment. The resort photographer at the Barcelo Maya is Novia Mia. Their photos on their website are very nice however I'm having a hard time finding any info about their company (other than their website). I've seen a few reviews online but cant find anything on this site (which I find strange). I think the Barcelo recently switched photographer companies to Novia Mia so maybe this is why I cant find much info. 

 

They charge a $700 vendor fee to bring in an outside photographer so we were hoping to avoid this. If anyone has any info or reviews about Novia Mia photography this would be appreciated!

PS - I would love to share info I get along the way if other brides getting married at the Barcelo Maya are looking to do the same!

Fantastic review!

 

I have been to Barceló Maya Beach for the last 6 years in a row(I was likely there in 2017 during your wedding )

 

I am very familiar with the grounds there-where exactly was the location of your ceremony and reception?

Does the resort give you options for both?

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
