Generations Riviera Maya Brides 2018***

I'm just using the one provided by the hotel too. An outsider would be an additional 800 dollars for the vendor fee and I'm already paying that for my photo/video team. I refuse to pay that twice! Haha.

Hi Ladies,

New to this thread but I am getting married in GRM in January 2018! Hopefully going down in Sept to check it out and get a better idea of everything. I think we're doing our ceremony on the pier and reception on the Sky Deck or everything on the Sky Deck. The Pier looks beautiful though and probably will end up doing it there. We've been dealing with Maritza who has been really great thus far!

Is anyone using a band? I didn't like any they had online so I'm hoping to find on down there when we go check it out. We are still using DJ Max as well.

Any suggestions for dinner? I'd love to do a stations type reception but can't really gage what the best way to do it is.

Lot of questions! Thanks!

Hello ladies!

Since I don't see a 2018 post of GMR I decided to start one. I have selected my DW locations to be in Generations Riviera Maya April 2018. I wanted to know if they are any other brides who are getting married in GRM? Or any other past brides have gotten married at GRM please provide us with any advice, ideas and opinions :)

Happy Planning!!!

Hi we just booked our date for April 26 next year what is your date and where is your ceremony and reception?

I will have so many questions for you! We just picked our date 4/26/18. Can you tell me which locations you chose, which packages and were you happy with them?

I decide to have my ceremony at the chapel and it is beautiful and as for reception I decided for a sky deck because I wanted something different than the traditional beach ceremony. The pier ceremony is another good option

We are doing chapel for ceremony and sky deck for reception. Was the ceremony catholic and did you do decorations in the chapel? Did you compare other hotel packages and prices prior to picking this one?

Hey ladies. I'm down to 88 days until my Wedding at Generations. There was never a 2017 thread so I posted occasionally on the 2016 thread and I figured I'd post here since it's getting so close. *SQUEALING*

My ceremony is on the pier and the reception is on the sky deck. I just so happened to book last year when there was a promotion to get the location fee ($500) waived.

Prices with the resort are steep, however convenient as you won't incur the outrageous $800 outside vendor fee and you know set up and clean up will be taken care of.

I did manage to "bypass" my outside vendor fee. (As I'm someone that's HUGE on clarity.) My contract stated that the outside vendor fee would be charged for vendors that come onto the property." It didn't state that even if I go off the property and pick up the items I would still be charged. SO needless to say after a little back and forth, they honored that.

I'm flying in my photographer from home and he's staying as a guest so no vendor fee.

I'm using Love & Lace Wedding Decor for my wedding favors and I'd definitely use her for decor if I needed any. She'll deliver and pickup and she's amazing to work with. I'll pick up the favors off-site.

I'm having my cake made by Arte en Pastel. She delivers as well so I'll pick up the cake off-site.

Reception- I'm going with the BBQ Deluxe. I love the options and variety it'll give everyone.

I'm still debating on the $1,500 lighting for the sky deck. *EEK* I can't bring myself to justify it yet. LOL!

All in all I'm beyond excited. And I WILL post pictures once the celebration is over. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions along the way.

Thanks for creating this thread ladies...

In the process of booking our wedding for 2018.

Is anyone else using Destinationweddings.com to coordinate & book everything?

I like that they offer payment plans for guests...

But so far, I can't really see any other perks.

And I got quoted $1300+ for the pier & sky deck locations (location fee)!

Didn't think anything of it until I saw others got quoted $500... <_<

What TA or coordinator are you ladies using to book everything?

I found my travel agent at a Bridal Show. Her name is Susan Lupisella with World Bound Travel. She's great. And 1300 definitely sounds steep for the location fee as I was definitely under the impression they were $500 each normally priced. The resort quoted you that price or destinationweddings.com?

PS- 47 days to go!  :D

Lot of questions! Thanks!

We are getting married at GRM Jan 2018 and everyone is staying next door at El Dorado Royale. We are using the band from www.partymusicevents.com

I have been emailing with Jessica V. about it and she is very quick to respond and very helpful. They are actually a party planning company so we are also doing some decorations, ceremony violin music, and the photobooth through them. We negotiated the outside vendor fees to only 1200 since it is the same company! Given their prices it was cheaper to do this rather than go through the hotel vendors, even with the fees. We looked at a lot of different bands, this one (The Shine Band) had a good song list and were relatively talented. Some others were good singers/musicians but their song list was very limited (IMO). Also the price included a DJ inbetween band the 4, 45 min band sets.

Most everything else we are doing through the hotel vendor to avoid the fees - flowers, food, cake, photography (most worried about this one, praying its not a huge mistake; we are using Bridal Moments if anyone else has used them please let me know!).

We are doing our ceremony on sky deck, cocktail hour on pier, reception on sky deck. I'm getting pretty excited as the date gets nearer!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
